Gieckboy Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I have a company that sells novelty hats featuring vintage photographs that have some partial nudity. I would like submit the website to the http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Casual/Caps_and_Hats/ but wanted to first make sure that the site wouldn't be classified as an "Adult" site as this is not the market we wish to target. Could some of the ODP editors here please take a look a give me their opinion as to how the site is likely to be received? I'd appreciate any advice and recommendations. Thanks! bobrat Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 No official comment on the Adult [i personally would consider it to be] but you have a coming soon page, and the site should not submiited until that is removed.
Gieckboy Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 Great - thanks for the feedback Bobrat. I've fixed the section labeled 'Coming Soon'. Can any other editors give an opinion on the "adult" ness of my site as well?
motsa Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Can any other editors give an opinion on the "adult" ness of my site as well?Let's see...you call them porn hats so what do you think?
Gieckboy Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 I'm being cheeky in calling them that - do you really consider a 150 year old photo of a topless woman "Porn"? National Geographic - is that then "Porn" as well? Why so hostile motsa, a simple "yes" would suffice thank you.
jimnoble Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 IMO it's not adult enough for it to be accepted into Adult so go ahead and suggest it elsewhere. The editor there might (or might not) decide to list it. Please don't interpret this as a promise that it'll be listed anywhere at all.
motsa Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Wasn't being hostile, just pointing out what you call them.
