pcentral Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Hello, I submitted my website several months back and did not get a response. However, I worked out my site well so that all that coding is as good as it can get - at least 95% no broken links - I think. I have resubmitted again. I think last March, towards the last weeks. I am not sure. This is my site: http://www.pcentral-online.net/ And I think I remember this was the category I put it in Society/Religion/Christianity/Denominations/Catholic/Webmaster/Resources I hope this is the correct information I have given. Is there any way we can get from this website the exact date of my site submission and the category I placed it in? Thanks, Dennis
Meta hutcheson Posted April 7, 2005 Meta Posted April 7, 2005 Make sure, absolutely sure, you've waited a month after the LAST submittal. Give US a clickable link to the category you placed it in. Then we can look for it. We usually can't TELL what category you submitted it to: that's why we ask you to tell us. (It doesn't matter in our usual work, except when we're doing some kinds of spam cleanup.) We usually don't tell people the exact date, simply because it makes absolutely no difference. A site is either submitted, or not.
Meta pvgool Posted April 7, 2005 Meta Posted April 7, 2005 Is there a good chance that my website can get listed? There are 2 options: - it get listed - it won't get listed I would call it 50-50. Any other answer can be found by reading the guidelines at DMOZ. You know your site, compare it against the guidelines and you know the answer. Hello, I submitted my website several months back and did not get a response. reason: we never send a response However, I worked out my site well so that all that coding is as good as it can get - at least 95% no broken links - I think. As any visitor we prefer 100% I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Meta andysands Posted April 7, 2005 Meta Posted April 7, 2005 You can easily check all links on your site by using a software tool. There are quite a few listed here: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Internet/Site_Management/Link_Management/ Cheers, Andy :-)
pcentral Posted April 8, 2005 Author Posted April 8, 2005 Thanks friends. Ok friends, thanks. I downloaded Xenu sleuth to check for all my links. I have about 500+ files and couldn't work with that with the W3C since W3C is limited to checking 150 files. Would the Xenu sleuth software be able to check the 500+ files? Also, I rechecked again the categories I submitted to and this is what it was: Society/Religion/Christianity/Denominations/Catholicism/Resources/ Webmasters I think I submitted a week ago. So this means I can check my links to make it 100% okay and then wait for three weeks? With high hopes, Dennis
spectregunner Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 If that is the category, then please, my kababayan, make the link clickable. As for the rest, when the month has passed, use that opportunity to return to this thread and do the clicakble link thing, that will signal that you are ready for the status check and will momentarily move your request to the top of the heap. Be sure and reuse this thread, though.
pcentral Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 I got the link hello friends, i am sending the link for my category Society: Religion and Spirituality: Christianity: Denominations: Catholicism: Resources: Webmaster: <a href="http://dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Denominations/Catholicism/Resources/Webmaster/">Society: Religion and Spirituality: Christianity: Denominations: Catholicism: Resources: Webmaster:</a> Just sent it in advance. will now work hard to get all my links in order. thanks, dennis
dogbows Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Dennis, I am sorry but your links still are not clickable. Go to the category and copy the address in your browser, then just paste it in the body of the post.
jimnoble Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Clickable category link I'm sorry but information is not yet available. By all means ask again in this same thread any time after 9th May.

jimnoble Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 hello, i posted one day early, hoping this gets to the editor at the right timeNo it didn't. The right time would be tomorrow. This forum has rules for good reason and we enforce them pretty strictly.
pcentral Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 hello, i hope i checked in at the proper time hello, i hope i checked in at the proper time this time. just wanted to know the status of my site. was i able to make the grade? if yes, that would be really be good news. if not, what should i adjust or edit or improve for the next submission time? dennis
jimnoble Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 It's awaiting evaluation in Catholicism/Businesses to where you suggested it. We can't predict when that might be. If it hasn't been listed in 6 months from today, please ask again in this same thread. We'd have to evaluate your website to know if it's likely to be listed or not. We don't do that here.
