I am sure my password is correct. When I ask for password reminder, just in case, I get, "Sorry, we cannot issue a password reminder to you at this time." Any help much appreciated! :o

Meta nea Posted June 18, 2007 Meta Posted June 18, 2007 northernpride, dbov, gino01: I have reported your reinstatement problem to the tech staff, and will report back here when they have sorted it. Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
drjlange Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Same problem I'm having the same problem. Username: drjlange Thanks
Meta nea Posted August 3, 2007 Meta Posted August 3, 2007 Ops have reported that they fixed the account issues. I have requested password reminders for northernpride, dbov and gino01. (drjlange's account was already reinstated.) Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
gino01 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Nea, just got an e-mail with what looked like a temporary password (not a reminder) I do know my password by the way, but both the password and the temporary password that was sent to me don't work. Any ideas? Update.... My old (original) password did work. It took it and stated that the account is inactive and when I filled out reinstatement form it wento to a blank browser screen.
motsa Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 We're having some problems with the reinstatement form, possibly as a result of the server changes we had last week. Hopefully it'll be fixed in a few days.
dmozbex Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Still can't... I still can't get in, sorry I forgot to check the forum. Username: dmozbex I think I know my password but wouldn't swear to it, can it be reset too? Many thanks, Rebecca.
chaos127 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 @dmozbex What are you trying to "get in" to exactly? According to what I can see, your account has timed out, and therefore you need to apply for reinstatement. Does the form at http://www.dmoz.org/reinstate.html not work for you? If it does, please let us know the error message it gives.
dmozbex Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Sorry, I wasn't at my clearest! I have tried the reinstatement form but just get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when I press "Request Reinstatement". I've have tried countless times. Thanks! Rebecca.
chaos127 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Looks like the problems Motsa mentioned are are still with us. It's been reported internally, so hopefully we'll have a fix soon. In the mean time, if you're tech-savvy you could try saving the reinstate form to your hard drive, and changing the line <form method="post" action="http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/reinstate.cgi"> to <form method="post" action="http://www.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/reinstate.cgi"> Using the amended version of the form on your hard drive will probably fix things for you.
dmozbex Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Editor Reinstatement I tried that am now back to my original problem where I get "Your password does not match our records. This may be the fault of our records." I am sure my password is correct. When I ask for password reminder, just in case, I get, "Sorry, we cannot issue a password reminder to you at this time." Any ideas? Thanks, Rebecca.
chaos127 Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Ok, I've reported this internally to see what can be done. It may need AOL staff to fix it, in which case it could take a few more days...
