I used to be the editor of

but I can no longer log in. I believe my login has lapsed.

 

My user name is: dmozbex

 

I tried requesting reinstatement but get the message, "Your password does not match our records. This may be the fault of our records." I am sure my password is correct. When I ask for password reminder, just in case, I get, "Sorry, we cannot issue a password reminder to you at this time."

 

Any help much appreciated! :o

I have attempted to reset the password on file for your account. Please try and log in again. If you are still having issues please bump this thread again.

Larger problem?

 

I (dareksz) have similar problem, also password reminder not working, so I think maybe it is larger issue?

Yes it is part of a larger problem which affects relatively few people.

 

Please tell us what error message you received so that we can diagnose exactly which problem you are experiencing.

After October 2006 DMOZ editors' site failure I've give my time to some other projects and now I try come back.

 

My login expired so I try login reinstate form and have exactly same error message as dmozbex:

records.

Please go back in your browser if you need to resubmit the form.

for correct (I am sure) password.

I've reported your problems to our systems engineers who are the only people with the skills and permissions to fix them. I'll let you know when they've done so - it could take a week or so.

Our ops staff have sorted out your accounts and issued you with new passwords and our system has emailed them to you.

I have tried the reinstatement form online, but continue to get the following message -"Your password does not match our records, and you are using a different e-mail address. This may be the fault of our records."

 

Please assist with getting my account reinstated. Thank You

Ops have reported that they fixed the account issues. I have requested password reminders for northernpride, dbov and gino01. (drjlange's account was already reinstated.)

Nea, just got an e-mail with what looked like a temporary password (not a reminder) I do know my password by the way, but both the password and the temporary password that was sent to me don't work. Any ideas?

 

Update....

My old (original) password did work. It took it and stated that the account is inactive and when I filled out reinstatement form it wento to a blank browser screen.

We're having some problems with the reinstatement form, possibly as a result of the server changes we had last week. Hopefully it'll be fixed in a few days.

Sorry, I wasn't at my clearest!

 

I have tried the reinstatement form but just get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" when I press "Request Reinstatement". I've have tried countless times.

Looks like the problems Motsa mentioned are are still with us. :(

It's been reported internally, so hopefully we'll have a fix soon.

 

In the mean time, if you're tech-savvy you could try saving the reinstate form to your hard drive, and changing the line

<form method="post" action="http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/reinstate.cgi">

to

<form method="post" action="http://www.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/reinstate.cgi">

Using the amended version of the form on your hard drive will probably fix things for you.

Ok, I've reported this internally to see what can be done. It may need AOL staff to fix it, in which case it could take a few more days...
