timborden Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I am having a very difficult time getting my site listed in the dmoz.org directory. I appreciate the value of dmoz and given the trust that search engines associate with a dmoz listing, I understand the need to be patient while editors review the submissions. I would really appreciate some advice. My site: SCHOOPY <url removed> The category I wish to be listed in: Top: Reference: Education: Products and Services: Technology: Online Services About a year and a half ago, I submitted my site to dmoz. Within the last couple months, I resubmitted my site. In addition, I applied to be an editor of the above category, providing full disclosure that I was a proprietor of a website wishing to be in that category. My application was not approved, with good reason. The truth is, I am primarily concerned with listing my site, but would have allocated the time to be an honest editor, should that be a requirement to get listed. I'm not sure what else I can do. I ran a healthy site, with a 5+ year history, that I believe to be in the suggested category. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim
jimnoble Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Be patient and concentrate on other means of promoting your website. We'll get to your listing suggestion in time - but we can't predict when or what the result of the evaluation will be. If an ODP listing is going to happen, it'll happen in its own good time; posting here will not expedite it.
timborden Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 Jim, Thanks for your response. A quick follow up question, if you don't mind. Will I be notified of the inclusion or submission issues when my site is reviewed? Thanks again, Tim
