Hello to you all, this is my first post on here and I thought I'd introduce myself to the community. I'm a British English teacher living and teaching in Poland. I'm hoping to become an editor on dmoz (I'm patiently waiting for the problems to be fixed, I do hope it has not caused too much stress for those involved!). Hi to everyone that is interested in this subject. Firstly, i submitted my site to DMOZ 3 years ago, and i have no idea if it has ever been reviewed, basically it is not listed. My suggestion is to submit then forget for the following reasons; Many people think that you must submit to Dmoz in order to have a good natural listing in Google, this however is NOT the case. OK, this option seems to be dead for now, so what else can I do to submit my little site dedicated to insurance in texas? I am also looking for individuals who would constructively criticize the site so I can improve it. Please do not just email or post to dump negativity, constructive is the key word here. I've already done the sitemap and robots.txt thing at google. Where else can I go? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated as my small business is competing against a well known lizard (we are talking insurance industry, not derogatorily) and others. I was depending on dmoz. As much as I disagree with the policy towards webmasters and am bottled up with frustration, talking to the members (which I never really did before) has shown stereotypes to be wrong so far. Not 1 person demonstrated an "inflated ego" or "abuse of power" as rumors claim. Criticism was taken well and nobody attacked me for challenging them.

Hi all, been trying to get my site listed for 2 months but same ol' problem. so I thought I'd post it here and hope you have a minute to check it out and let me know what you think. The site is called Surf n' Snow Photography name says it all, basically includes photos, videos, articles about surfing and snowboarding. Also it's home to the brand new BoardRiderz Forum, only 2 members right now but it has to start somewhere. The snow season is yet to start so the snowboarding photos will be posted in Feb 2007. I remember my time there with a certain amount of fond memories and also a little frustration at times but have no ill feelings about anything that happened as I could easily have done things differently to arrive at a different result. SiteAdvisor has created more than 8 million webpages using every single domain name in it's URL, Keywords, description Meta-tags. And even it lists that domain name almost 10 times in each page. Is this something acceptable to MSN, Yahoo or Google? This is not about DMOZ, and i know this is a serious forum, but as the DMOZ system is down, i thought i would show you something that might put a smile on your face... I was looking for a driving instructor for my little sister today, and in my search through many websites I cam across one site that really made me laugh, mainly becuase i didnt expect what i saw...
