I feel sad and sorry to know the discontinuation of site status checks. Its always difficult to give up something good and useful. None the less, peace and support to all the Moderators and Administrators who had to take this step. However, I'ed also like to know about everybodies views and support on this. Coz I am sure that there are loads of people out there who maybe feeling that same way and would like to share them and that'ed really be appreciated by all. Hello World! I have been reading allot lately and I have a question that has been asked before, but I feel it has to be reviewed. Site submission works fine, and even without submitting all my web pages are listed. But.... and here it comes...(don't kick me out, please) I want to remove my website from Dmoz. It's stealing attention from my pages and Dmoz gets a higher rank in all search engines. I know you say you won't or can't remove it, but there has to be a way out? I just noticed something that doesn't belong.... http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Domain_Names/For_Sale_or_Auction/ LongIsland.LI - Offers Long Island domains. The description should be "Offers Liechtenstein domains." That's actually a very bad thing because DMOZ is actually helping them pull the wool over the eyes, if you know what I mean.... I know it's a mistake but many people may see that and believe it to be true... .li is a Liechtenstein TLD

Can an editor tell us, how many submissions Dmoz gets daily? What are the most 'popular' categories? If you are an editor responding, what is your category and how many submissions do you get? The reason I ask is because there are over 8 billion web pages in Google's Index and I was just curious

Last year I launched a website with a free domain name which somehow got into Dmoz. I truly don't remember submitting it here because back than I was a complete Noob and didn't think much of it. Since than that site has been given a new .com domain name and has be re-engineered. However now that I am a bit more knowledgeable in the Webmaster field and understand the advantages of being in Dmoz, my site is not there anymore. If I was a bit more smarter back than I would have done a 301 re-direct, now I have to start my journey of getting listed in Dmoz from scratch. Hi, I originally registered "dcitarella" as a username and never received the confirmation email. I don't know if it is a problem with my email server, suspecting resource-zone emails are spam, or if the send confirmation email function from resource-zone was down or broken when I initally registered, or some other unfathomable issue. Anyway, I'd love to use that account, rather than this one. I am having a problem with meta in site submission status... I believe my words and actions were COMPLETELY misinterpreted and am getting the shortend of the stick because of it... I read forum threads. Let me acknowledge: I know DMOZ has nothing to do with Google, Yahoo, or any search engine. I know you have nothing to do with web “content crawlers.” I know no one should rely on DMOZ without any targeted marketing plan. So I'm clicking around the forum today, and I start browsing around in the status check forums. At first it was amusing, but then it started to get on my nerves. . . and I'm not even an editor who has to reply to people. Hello I study at the moment in Edinburgh and life in a studentaccomodation. We've tryed to set up a Network but failed. We have a Wireless Lan Router and a broadband internet connection. Coneccted to this is a desktop computer and three wireless-lan notebooks. We can connected to the internet from the router and MSN-Messenger is using our internal network connection (54 Mbits/s) but we can't make a network connection between our computers. Can you help
