A certain popular website that begins with Ya and ends in hoo has this nasty habit of allowing Flash advertisements to take over your screen. It's getting right up my bottom and I'm getting sick of it. I know there's ways you can block Flash animations...so does anyone know good ways of doing it:question:

How heavily does Google rely on DMOZ listings (if at all) on whether or not they list a site? Some background: I did a search for our company name and came up with 73 hits, not one of which was one of our pages. I submitted our URL to Google again with that info as a note and 3 Googlebots were spidering our site within a couple of hours. From reading about the DMOZ Google update posts, I'm guessing I won't know if they've decided to include the site until mid-month. Or will our site not being in DMOZ prevent inclusion? I've got the idea that there's no 'formal' policy, but that's the 'net legend' going around. Can someone slay this rumor again please…

Could those of you who have a link to a photo or image of yourself in your profile please check that it's a reasonable size? 5k is plenty good enough for a nice image to show up next to your posts. But there are some way bigger than that. Have pity on us on puny 56K modems (or slower) users! Seeing the big picture can more than double time time it takes to browse a thread. Thanks!

Is this area just for editors of the ODP? I had made an announcement regarding an open source group and it was removed. I hope that I did not violate anything. Its a free group, and it doesn't benefit me in anyway. Sorry if I made a mistake. Please answer my question or point me in the direction of guidelines for this forum. My ISP has a problem with one the routers. If you are having timeouts on page loads then you are more than likely affected by this. It seems to be affecting anyone that connects from the west coast of the U.S. and most that access from other countries. This is out of my control. I have contacted the ISP and they assure me they are working on the problem. Sorry about any inconvenience.

I am guessing that posts made before one switches groups don't change when one does switch.
