I submitted my site for submission over 7 years ago. I pretty much gave up on being listed in ODP, so I have not made an effort to come into the forum for a number of years. It appeared every time I asked about site review, inclusion, it would make an editor mad and perhaps that was why my site was never listed. I don't know. I do know that Google, MSN and Bing has recognized my site in a top tier status for at least 6 years or in Bing's case, since the the SE inception. Do you think many members were listed as inactive because they stopped coming to the forum because of fear of making an editor mad?

We recently learned that Open Directory Catmod for both World/Srpski and World/Magyar, cicka passed away on August 14, 2010. Ivana was a devoted editor and she will be greatly missed. Computers/Internet/Searching/Directories/Open_Directory_Project/In_Memoriam/Cicka :rose:

I just watched that documentary entitled "Bush's Brain" and as a conservative myself, I was very shocked and appalled by some of the actions of Mr. Karl Rove...I had heard this fella was a rather slippery idget, but some of the things that he may have done are simply dispicable and are not indicative of the "right".....I could not believe that he had the nerve to blast Sen. McCain regarding his military service....simply disgusting Just was wondering if anyone else saw this one?

I notice there are editors, editalls, catmv and meta. I understand an editall is a "monster editor" who can access all cats and edit, a catmv can presumably move categories around (?) and a meta can do all of these functions plus add new editors. I also see some people have a title of kmeta. What's the deal with kmetas ? What does it mean ?

Hi All, We will be launching a new free site very soon called dmozupdates.com. Our first concept will be to allow free members to monitor dmoz for additon and deletion of a url in a specific category, as well as some general stats about Dmoz as a whole (# of Cats, #of URL's, #Added , # Removed). What we are looking for is any other ideas editors, metas and users would like to see in a free service like this?

A certain popular website that begins with Ya and ends in hoo has this nasty habit of allowing Flash advertisements to take over your screen. It's getting right up my bottom and I'm getting sick of it. I know there's ways you can block Flash animations...so does anyone know good ways of doing it:question:

Hi, I've just registered today in order to submit the following URL http://www.lushthoughts.com . I'm just unsure which sub-category to submit under. Although there is presently only one very specific project on the site (a stereoscopic machine vision system), I'm soon going to be covering things as varied as a content management system in PHP & XML, robotics using a handyboard and Java/C++/VC++ projects. I'm basically going to cover things with a "how-to" approach, but cant find any sub-category with a broad enough approach :-/ Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-) Thanks Dave

Hmmmmmm...... Tale of (2) Witches continues: I remember when I was growing up, my mother ALWAYS told me not to put my shoes on the counter, it was bad luck. My wife ( of 10 years) told me it was just so I would not dirty the counter and that it was ridiculous. Yet........ My wife tells me I can never put her purse on the floor, because the ( Are you ready for this one???) money will literally RUN right out of the purse. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........................................ Could it be she doesn't want to get the bottom dirty??? Or, do the coins and dollar bills just jump right out into my sneakers???
