Many editors here must be familiar with the zeal directory. It was a human edited directory with quite a large community and large independent index. Owned by looksmart, owe be upon them, who decided that they could not even pay for the servers of zeal, zeal has now been clkosed down.

Hi, For All who were waiting for DMOZ listing to appear in Google and the Google Directory - Its their dream come true. Google has finally been updated. I have got my site listed and saw many more new listing too. Finally, Google has taken data from the RDF dumps in the March 10 Update. I've been trying to get my site listed in the DMOZ since 2005. I haven't given up yet. Instead of submitting my site and patiently waiting month after month without any idea if my submission has been read and denied or not read at all, I've decided to take a more proactive stance. Hello World! I have been reading allot lately and I have a question that has been asked before, but I feel it has to be reviewed. Site submission works fine, and even without submitting all my web pages are listed. But.... and here it comes...(don't kick me out, please) I want to remove my website from Dmoz. It's stealing attention from my pages and Dmoz gets a higher rank in all search engines. I know you say you won't or can't remove it, but there has to be a way out? Forums or bulletin boards serve their purposes as question & answer and archives. But, why is there no chat for ODP editors? Seems it's important enough to merit a chat room. Also, this might be a way for ODPers to get to know eachother, better.

Hi everyone. This is just a thread to pass along an idea, and perhaps someone out there may find it useful. If you think for a moment, and wonder how people's lives are made better to some degree simply because of the existance of non-profit and charitable organizations. I am having a problem with meta in site submission status... I believe my words and actions were COMPLETELY misinterpreted and am getting the shortend of the stick because of it... So, my wife tells me a couple weeks ago to plug in the small Lowe's type fountain in front of our front door. Since I did the garden, 3-4 months ago, I buried the extension cord. My sales at work have been not too great and she comes out of the blue and says " If you plug in the fountain, the running water brings more $$$ to the home." I swear, that's exactly what she said. Where did it come from? I have no idea, but it seemed to work. I have been doing better lately. Where would this come up from, ancient myths, witchy beliefs, Nostradamus??? Any Insights???
