Hi, <url removed> (google pr5) is the oldest web site about Karadeniz (in its category category) and it has orginal copyrighted artices (see wikipedia or Google) But it removed from its category but it's new competitors (some of them duplicate my content too) in dmoz list. How can it be?. Editors selling links or remove competitors in dmoz. Is it against the rules? Is it justice. I read the forum rule that requires to include our category, editor name, and date applied within the body of each post. I looked but did not see a place to create signatures for the forum. In May, I started a business directory website for the city that I live in because the one that existed/still exists (and has the #1 Google ranking) was actually 7 years out of date. In fact, the index page discusses an election held in 2001! In addition, at least 30% of the businesses no longer exist. Hi - we are listed in your open directory catagory (along with 45+ other businesses), but not as one of the specific sites. There are 4 sites listed when you do a "yoga studio phoenix" search and two of the four are not even in Phoenix. How can we be on this part of the directory and not just part of the catagory? Hi there, I have been trying to register for almost 6 months now. Not sure that I should bother anymore but though I would give this forum a try. When we find the category we want to register in, there is no option at the top of the screen that says "Sugg Site". Is this because the system only shows the link when the moderators or editors catch up with their approvals? Also we tried many times to submit the question to the moderator but get cgi error messages everytime we try to contact him. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Greetings, Brand new here so I hope I am doing this right. Under the Religion category I am listed in Wicca but that does not fit my web site as we have a strong blend of Christian. I have seen the term as Christopagan before & wondered if this has been requested before. http://www.dmoz.org/unavailable.html the bottom of this URL has the tagline in the title. I have to say, this must be a joke. I have been trying to get a legitimate URL submitted for 6 years. I have followed the submission guidelines to a T, and have always submitted to the appropriate category. Still, after 6 years, no DMOZ entry. The mail email box for this directory is always full. Overall, this system is extremely inefficient. I cant believe that SEO bases any scoring off the DMOZ at all. I would be embarrassed to be associated with any organization that ran it's business like this, regardless of whether or not it generated revenue.

Hello, I submitted my site's URL about two months ago. Today I checked as a follow-up to see if it was listed in the DMOZ directory but of course it stated "No results". However when I checked for further results in the other Search Engine Directories (Alta Vista, Google, Yahoo, etc.,) it was there! What's going on? I applied for an editor since I think I know quite a lot about the field I am in, however my application was rejected, my only guess is that I rushed the application, and didn't put as much thought into it as I'd like. I will of course reapply again. I have 2 websites in 2 entirely different subjects, I've submitted them both within the last week. Hi, I submitted a site to one of the directory and it was reviewed promptly. There were a lot of people that also came from some thread in the editor’s forum of dmoz which I saw in my logs about a week back. I have read the guidelines and think that I meet the guidelines and also submitted to the appropriate category. Is there any way I can get a little feedback to find the problem, fix it and resubmit. My site was submitted and accepted in late 1998 or early 1999. Within days of acceptance, we started showing in Yahoo results and continued to do so for years. Some time last year, the site was **dropped** from odp (at least a search on the domain name yields nothing and I cannot find it in any applicable categories). I sent an email to the editorial staff and resubmitted the site months ago to no avail. Seems liked we have been blacklisted. Any way to find out why this happened and who deleted us (like maybe a competitor)? Any suggestions for how to get back in? It's frustrating since we were one of the first in our category back in 1999. tia, tom
