I know it's something that is generally not done, and editors do not have to give any feedback to webmasters about their submissions, but can the editors give feedback if they want to? And what, if any, information are editors not allowed to give out? Thanks

To whom it may concern; A few years ago my company was banned from DMOZ due to some editor decisions in the adult section of ODP. We called out some shady editors who spammed there respective sections with mirror/virtual and non-relevant sites. Those editors are have been replaced, probably for those very reasons. I would like an explanation on how I can get my site listed again in the category that is relevant? There is no appeal process that is satisfactory and complies with current U.S. equal access laws to non-profit orginizations. Two or three months ago I submitted my site to the Murcia Real Estate category of the ODP and I have not been listed. I recently asked a friend of mine Paul in the UK, who is an editor for the ODP, if he could tell me why the site hasn’t been listed. He checked my website address and said the reason was that, "This site mirrors the actual Polaris World website". I have seen too many times now where a blog or seo site claim that the DMOZ is either a waste of time, or a futile attempt. Unfortunatly, I am not a big beleaver in heresay; so I had to check this for myself. Thankfully, my wait has only been about five months now. I have read about others waiting years, and that just dumbfounds me. I suppose that nobody can put a time frame on volunteer work, but it makes it frustrating when many of the tools these sites depend on are influenced directly by the DMOZ. A perfect example is Alexa. This might stem from the DMOZ outage earlier this year but for some reason, the url that my site is listed on in the dmoz does not show in Google. BUT...the toolbar pr is there. How could it have pr if it isn't even listed in Google? So I did a check and I found tons and tons of urls that have apparantly been dropped by Google. Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks.

I had submitted my site in a catalog for 2 or 3 months. and I found no editors there. Hello I posted a few weeks ago about requesting to update our URL in the DMOZ. The one that is listed is a redirect that is parked. I did make that request. My question is simple. How long does it normally take to update or edit a URL? There are obvious reasons why having the redirect in the DMOZ is not very useful to us. All the content is at the URL that it points to and any SEO benefits are simply lost. Thanks

Just a quick question. It's now been over a year since submitting my website to dmoz (don't worry I'm not going to complain about the wait ) but I've notice periodic visits (about a month between each) from editors/watchlist.cgi (registered on my site stats). Why the frequent visits (I would imagine it only takes one visit to assess whether or not to add to the directory)? W.>

can you please talk to your french editors to give some attention to people submissions ! im submitting since january 2006 with no succes ! and just dont tell me im not respecting the rules ! all its ok with my site and my submission ! just they (your french editors) are keeping their business safe ! im so mad and i will hope from someone from you to check what they are doing ! To whom it may concern, I am writing to enquire why my site has been removed from DMOZ: <url removed> I was extremely pleased to find out from my webmaster that the site was listed about 2 weeks ago. The catergory was as follows: Shopping: Travel: Luggage: Leather Products These seemed to be the perfect catergory. However, i have just checked and it is no loger there! Hello everyone. I need a little advice. We are a small company that has a website that was in the DMOZ. We hired a company to do some redesign and allow us to list our inventory on the website through our internal database. Not long after this our URL was removed from the DMOZ. I am not sure why this happened. From the reaction of the company we hired, I suspect it was because of some bad product specifications were in the Database....or that it was wrong product description. I have tried several times to get my site listed in the DMOZ directory without any luck todate. I have read through the rules and believe that my site meets all expectations so firstly could someone explain why a site would not be accepted if it meets all criteria and secondly why it is so hard on the dmoz site to find any contact details in order to get "help" as i am sure there are plenty of people who need it.

I submitted my site <url removed> about a month ago. Are we suppose to get comfirmation if a site is accepted? I assume my site was accepted because it is searchable (or does dmoz has nothing to do with it?). But I wanted to edit the url and when I check on the listing, it's not there on dmoz listing. I'm not 100% sure but I most likelyy submitted the link under: Games/ computer games/ Simulation/ The sims 2/modification and add on So how do I check if my site is accepted?
