I already listed my site <removed URL> in the ”Real Estate Directories” Category and it does not appear yet. My content is genuine and new and my site is well designed and totally functional. It is not a realtor site (like this category forewarns)... I’m not using black hats or any bad practices.... My only conclusion is that DMOZ doesn’t have enough volunteers to cover the entire demand of site listings... I’m thinking on becoming an Editor myself... but I don’t think it’s a good idea to do this for my site nor my industry... I don’t think that would be fair... What would be a reasonable thing to do in my situation???

Can I change my current username to my real name? It was my mistake that I thought declaring all of my professional existence will clear up the transparency, and I could learn here through queries without hiding my profession. But somehow I feel it was not necessary to register my username by my profession. So I want to stop using this username and come back to the forum with my real name as in username. My web is listed in DMOZ directory but unfortunately i recently noticed that part of the text i entered is wrong. Also, i forgot my user name and pass if i even need that?How can I edit my listing now?Is finding my user and pass the only way? Thx.

Dear Sirs, I do want to place my query with honor that, I have noticed many categories are not updated for years. Some categories are not updated after 2006, some are not after 2007, 2008, 2009. Getting the categories not updated have brought up the thought in my mind that there must be thousands of sites suggested for that categories in that long period of years. And this huge list of suggested sites must be panic to review. Hi We have a very general issue to be urgently discussed and resolved by Dmoz in Turkey as Turkish webmasters. For the last 6 months, we have tried adding a lot of websites, with different methods all of which were very suitable for Dmoz and tame for general web legacy. I have spent quite a fair bit of time and money updating my website and what we do. I noticed that DMOZ refers to us when we were much older and our business has diversified significantly since then along with moving. I updated through DMOZ around 4 weeks ago and know that it said that it should take around 2 weeks. We have just launched a new website at Thompson & Morgan and currently Google is using the DMOZ title in its search results. Hi all, I have joined this forum to find out a bit more information about the casino category, hopefully you can shed some light on this for me. Firstly, why are no more sites aloud to be submitted? Is this due to there being no editor? Or high levels of spam? I am not complaining, in fact I understand the process and respect it. I have a Music Forum. I do not think I am allowed to put the URL here so I will hold off until a Staff Member asks for it. I submitted my site and after three months several Site Stat Service boards had me listed in DMOZ when before I was not because I had not submitted yet. Thus I trust the Stat Service to be accurate. my site <url removed> is in the dmoz.org before, i change my site name to <url removed> last period and request a link change on odp. it was accepted by a editor then i can find my site well. but after a while, i can't find it any more. there isn't any email notification about the reason, but it's gone. btw, i found many site which was in the same category were gone too.... there is a little site in the category wholesales now.... could you please tell me what's wrong with it? thanks a lot regards

Hi, I had submitted my site very long back and it got listed as well, but when during the time I was submitting the related category wasn't there but now I could see the exact category which is my business itself. I would like to change my listed category to the one which is more close to my business? Can I do that using Update Listing option? and if yes how much time it usually takes to get it updated. I got this message "noodp: This directive is only supported by Google, Yahoo and Bing and prevents the alternative description from the ODP/DMOZ from being displayed in the search results." What can I do to get DMOZ to robots to enter my site? Thanks for all your help.

Just wondered are there any figures for number of people applying to become editors and the % accepted. I see some of the senior people on here saying it can take anything from weeks to years to get a site reviewed, Surely as an information directory it is not beneficial for people who use the directory to not be able to find most up to date information it should not take years… Could some of the people that apply to become editors be used as a sort of team to clear backlogs or even just weed out multiple suggested sites or the spam allowing senior people more time for other ones as a sort of apprentice route (Maybe over seen buy senior editors)Then be given a role a…

Hello I've noticed that several days ago the content of some categories has rolled back to the 6 month earlier results.
