If we check any category, we can see "Last update xxxxxxxx" on very extreme end of the page. Can any Editor focus light on it ? What does it acually mean ? I am very excited to know and to learn about this because many categories were Last updated more than 2 years agon. Does it mean that the Editor(s) of that category hasn't included any site from last 2 years ? or does it mean that no NEW category was added neither any category was modified ?

I know DMOZ directory arround 1 year ago, at the beginning I do know the submit policy in details so I think my website has been rejected, too many advertize words in the title or decription. But I tried to learn from other websites on the DMOZ directory and I resubmitted again, this time the title and description are plain at all. Months past, the result is the same, why it is so hard to submit the website to DMOZ?

Our company is currently listed in the 'web hosting' category on DMOZ/ODP, at http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/H/ However, our company has evolved and web hosting is no longer a primary part of our business. We no longer wish to be listed in DMOZ/ODP in the 'web hosting' category. Could you please remove our link, or advise how we can arrange to remove this link? Thank you for your attention and courtesy.

Hi I have seen in an old thread that if you re-submit your website, it will automaticly rejected. Why is it that? I spend a lot of time improving my web site. It could reach the criteria of dmoz during those improvements. It becomes unfair to not take the time to evaluate the web site once again if I take a delay of about a year to re-submit that site.

Hi We originally submitted our website on 17th June 2010 We submitted it again on 27th Deceber 2010 because we thought it hadn't gone through. Our mistake - we then realized you have to wait longer to be reviewed... so we did.... we have waited nearly 2 years. I have to assume we were refused or declined. My question is there anyway to check what happened to those 2010 submissions?.

I'm hoping someone may know the answer to this. A year ago I submitted my site to DMOZ and it still hasnt been listed. In that time our company has changed what it sells and has changed from a yourdomain.com.au to www.yourdomain.com.au . I have resubmitted the site into a different category and using the correct domain name www. Will they reconsider my site or will this be ignored because I have already submitted it into a different catagory?

Hello, DMOZ community! Last year I built a site for my dad's moving company. I submitted it (-) last September, but not never approved. Here is the new problem: We acquired a preferred new domain (-) and I migrated to the newly designed site with meticulous 301 redirects, page-to-page from the old site. So I had to submit the new URL to dmoz last month, and still no word from dmoz. Can you please combine my waiting-time from the old URL and the new URL? Thank you for your time and effort on dmoz! Yours, Aaron webmaster@-

Dear all, We have submitted our directory (shareware and freeware directory), about 2 years ago, we suggest this category to submit http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Shareware/Directories/ My concern is that our site offers coupon codes (discounts) for software, and also we work as all with an affiliate network, one of the top in payment processing n the market. Is correct the suggested category or we should apply another? Thank you for your time.

I have unsuccesfully tried to register a site on universal ethics (related to universal human rights). Though the guidelines inform that this would be the place to refer to the URL in question, right here I am informed that referring to a special site is prohibited. So, what is true? The other problem is that there is no category for universal ethics. There are only business ethics, internet ethics, religious ethics or ethics related to specific american universities. Shouldn't be universal ethics an important issue nowadays?

My company name is still listed in the ODP but no longer viewable under a specific category. I can find the listing by typing in my company name and then clicking 'search'. A while back, I decided to significantly enhance the website and unwisely first removed the old website (for some time) from the Internet while doing the upgrading. Thus, I certainly understand why it was removed from the ODP category. The website enhancement consisted of adding a lot of pictures, graphics and additional content (e.g., educational articles). I also changed the URL name, and I added an alternate company name; both to improve the marketing of my consulting services. The company nam…

I have a costume website which is now under new ownership. The previous owner stated that he was rejected from Dmoz because the business was a dropship only and provided very little service. Now that this website has been updated and provides full service both online and retail , I have resubmitted it. I have not heard back, and wanted to know if I should contact the costume admin and update the status of this business. Since they might of been the one who rejected it previously. I can provide pictures from in the store & a pic of the sign or whatever else is needed. Please let me know if there is a way to contact this editor / category admin Thanks

Hi, I originally submitted my website, <url1 removed>, many months ago and mistakingly put it under the category of "multitrack recording" when it should have been under the category of Business : Arts and Entertainment : Music : Production : Recording Studios : D I re-submitted my site a few months later as <url2 removed>, hoping that would help it get in the right category, but it didn't work. Now I can't find my site on dmoz.org at all. Today, I re-submitted it under <url1 removed>, in the category I mentioned above. Is there any way you can help me make sure it gets listed in the correct category? Thanks! Greg

Hello, I submitted my site for listing over a month ago and I haven't heard anything. Have I fallen through the cracks or is this typical. Obviously, since the Christmas season is coming, I'm anxious to get on the list.

Hi my name is Daniel Scott, I have been trying for a long time to get my website listed into ODP. I admit out of frustration I have submitted my site more than once, in a period of four years. My website isn't for money, it is based on my personal hobby of paranormal research. I can be honest in saying I know the rules, and suggestions of ODP with regards to getting listed. I would appreciate some one with the ability to do so; please look into my listing and suggest changes that may warrant inclusion. I am asking for any assistance possible please don't forsake my request. p.s. Thanks to anyone for your help it is appreciated. Daniel Scott

I would like an addition into one of these categories and submitted weeks ago but feel its not likely every to get approved from the situation of an which appears to be an absent updater etc. What are my options from here if any ? Best regards mrix

Hey guys I am new to the odp and seem to have a hard time becoming a part of it. (Though I really want to) The category I have submitted my site for seems somewhat outdated, with limited subcategories and old websites. Anyone have any tips on getting my site listed? It fits so well. Take care and have a good day everyone! B

I submitted a site recently without realizing that the site was already listed in another category. My submission was accepted and posted so now there are two listings for the same website in different categories. Is this okay? Is the site going to get penalized or is it okay to have multiple listings for the same site?
