I have been listed for some time, However recently I looked at our listing and was shocked to see the listing had been revised and the description was an opinion, not a description of our site. How do I get this major league mess up corrected promptly? The name is not even correct... The business name is C&J Cocker's. I do suspect one of my competitors has become an editor and is interferring with my business. Also how do I find out who changed the description?

I know Ive been submitting to the proper category. My sites are well designed... Never made it... Do I need to become an editor? Seems unethical to me... Is this the only way to get list?... Just tell me why? Please. I get nothing and I wait and wait and wait.

Is there a way to find out the size of the queue for different Business categories? My site was submitted to Business/Small Business/Consulting - showing 68 listings, and no direct editor on April 1, but I was told the queue is very large. As my site can work in several appropriate categories, is the queue of the following, compared to small biz/consulting, bigger, smaller? Business/small business/news and media - 107 listings, no direct editor listed Business/Resources/News and media - 533 listings, no direct editor listed I am trying to find out if I re-submit into one of these other categories if my chances of getting listed would improve and get reviewed any quic…

Hello, I'm doing a site for this guy that does karaoke show in the Austin, Texas area ( http://www.karaokebyrjandassociates.com/ ), and I submitted this site twice, so far, to the Texas regional category for karaoke. It's been around a couple of months since the last submission. I sent a message to "Wise Guy", the listed editor for this category and I never got any reply. Should I continue to resubmit this site every couple of months, or should I try to contact the editor again and see when I can expect this site to be listed? Thanx, Rockrz

Id like to know how i go about finding out whether or not my site has even been looked at / rejected etc yet? Really you should have some auto-responders in place for this as all it does is add to the confusion and frustration i believe i added my site between 6 and 9 months ago, i noticed that im not supposed to list my sites URL here so im asking a moderator, how can i find out whats happening with my site?

I submitted my site a few years ago and for some reason it disappeared, why might this be? I do wonder if a competitor is an editor in the category my site was associated in because the sites in the category are lacking.

Submission Errors -- Need Help

I'm responsible for submitting 3 URLs: www.shopperguide.net, www.texasgolferguide.com and www.flroidagolferguide.com. I Submitted them on my own, but then purchased a service to help up in the engines -- they required me to submit them again in order to keep track of them. I realized that this constituted multiple submissions after I had undergone the process. I know that the sites probably haven't been viewed yet for consideration, but I don't want the editors to view my submission mistakes as Spamming. We had also revamped the sites after the first submission, with new keywords and so forth, so the most recent submission would be the best one. Do you think that the…

I would be extremely grateful if someone could let me know what the likely time span is for an editor to review a site submitted to the following category: http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Pharmacy/Viagra/ I submitted my site (viagra-online.biz) just before Christmas. Should I submit it again? Best regards from across the pond. Tom

I have visited this page (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/JavaScript/Tools/) many times and was extremely surprised. There are many rubbish JavaScript tools (most of listed there) in that category, but the most popular are not listed. F.E The following most popular (and world leading) JavaScript Editors are not listed (it seems, will never be listed ): Aptana JavaScript Editor JavaScript Plus 1st JavaScript Editor TinyMCE JavaScript WYSIWYG Editor There is no editor in that category at least some last years.:icon_ques :icon_ques :icon_ques So I have some questions. Is the metaeditor above this category working with only affiliated site…

I know there is a sticky that states this isn't the place to request status updates, but I do have a question. I submitted a website today, which I am 100% certain was submitted to the correct category, but the last edit in the category was 3 months ago. Is that normal or is it possible the section has been abandoned? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I haven´t had any luck with the listing of my website (http://rom.8k.com), although I have followed all the guidelines and instructions and submitted to the appropiate category for the past 9 months!!! I believe that my site would represent a relevant result for anyone that is trying to find a spanish language translator. It is already listed in About.com and Ask Jeeves which also have strict editorial policies. I would really appreciate any help in order to have my site included in the Open Directory. Thank-you in advance for your time! Best regards, Rodrigo Ortiz-Monasterio Q. Spanish Translator & Copywriter

Which category?

Hello, I've just found your forum and think that it's a great idea!! The reason I am posting is that I want to be sure about which category I should submit my website to, as I am aware that the editors have a lot of sites to review, and I don't want to waste anyones time. My website is about general life in France and moving to France in general. It is written with Englisg speaking people in mind, and I share my experiences of life in France as an english person. I have also included information on wines and recipes, as well as a forum. I thought that I should submit it to Regional/France, but then, I thought that it's more to do with travel and lifestyle i…

For the last 4 years I have entered my sites URL to be listed in the directory and it has never been approved. I have followed all the guidelines to no avail. I know the importance of being listed here and it is costing my company money and for the life of me I can not understand why my company is not listed.

Hello, my site is listed at dmoz, but as I changed the whole content, the description is totally incorrect. I have written twice to the editor, but nothing has happened. I would like to have my page completely removed from dmoz - I have also written this to the Editor. But since I don't get any reaction, I don't know what to do. ! It must be possible to have my site completely removed, if I don't want it to be listed. So, if you can help me, please remove "www.conido.de" in the category World: Deutsch: Gesellschaft: Menschen: Persönliche Homepages: C Thank you conny

Hi, My website is "maybe" (no way to tell) stuck in the backlogs of a category that includes very few website, for more than a year now - I politely asked for more infos 7 months ago and was asked to wait there: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37915&goto=nextnewest I just want to know if I can/should resubmit ? I really don't see why this site would not be included (unless the editor made a mistake somehow but probably not) - Should I resubmit and actually i would love to have the opinion of an editor about resubmission in similar situations, I guess that it would be a valuable information for others too.

I was trying to add my site to a cat (Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Internet_Marketing/Marketing_Services) and I pressed submit - nothing happened. At this point I pressed the submit button a second time (sorry). It didn't get an error message and the page stayed the same. Should I submit again or has the submission request gone? Any advice would be great.

I've entered my site: www.antiqueradioschematics.com, monthly for several months now and have yet to be included. Am I not being patient enough or is there a problem with my site that is preventing my being listed? [Edited URL in order for it not to stretch the thread - apeuro]

Deeplink - to do or not to do?

This has been asked and answered 100s of times. I am none the wiser! I have a personal web site. Part of it is to do with my business activities. There are just a few pages there, unsuitable for a DMOZ listing: My personal web site. The rest of the web site is about my photography. It is (I claim!) comparable with other listings in the "solo exhibitions" section: My photography. Solo Exhibitions. The photography section has URL: http://www.barry.pearson.name/photography/ Is it better to deeplink or not? Photographers won't want to see my home page. But I don't want to reduce my chances. Thanks.

To All ODP Editors, I just want to say that no matter how much people complain, your great (brown-nosing not intended). I have my company listed in a “very” regional category and then it was explained that it is possible to be listed higher up the chain. I had noticed some of my competitors that cover the same area listed up higher, so I applied to the same category two days ago. Much to my surprise today I checked I was not listed in the category, but in the “MAJOR” category above. This category even shows “no editor”. They also were very honest and direct with my description as they were with my previous entry. My first entry also had “no editor”, but I was …
