On 26 March, we submitted the following 4 URLS but by 17 June, none have been listed. If there is some reason these sites cannot be listed, please could you give us some direction or advice so we can fix the problem? Hi Everyone, Here is the site: http://www.teething-teeth.com Here is what happened... this was my first website and I submitted it to the ODP under the category of "teething" just over two years ago. We did not hear anything so we resubmitted to dmoz about 6 months ago... ruffly. I have submitted to Business: Arts and Entertainment: Photography: Photographers: Commercial-Advertising: Regional: North America: United States: California But also noticed that a lesser used category or more general search for just "Architectural Photographers" at Architectural Photographers might be better or at least I would like be in both. How does that work? Do I submit to both? Can I request that I be considered for both? They are very similar and essential, I think. As always I look forward to hearing from you. Dear Santa, Last two and a half years I'm trying to get listed in DMOZ with my website. From this time I have made four or five submissions to thoughtfully chosen related categories. But still no result. My website is related to online SEO tools and mostly offering free services, as well as a paid ones. It has unique good-looking design and unique features. I try to submit my site, in the category : World: Fran%e7ais: Commerce et %e9conomie: Immobilier: Logiciels. When I hit the submit button, the next page says : sites exists, This site already exists in the Open Directory. URL : (nothing) TITLE : (nothing) DESCRIPTION : (nothing) So when I click on the update button, it doesn't find the (nothing) site, of course.... Hello, Its almost like 1 year now waiting for my 3 sites to be listed here on dmoz, even read How to get your site listed FOUR times faster! and had followed like its said in there but still i cannot find my sites nowhere on dmoz. So can admin/editor tell me on an average how long is the wait time?

I'll make three comments before suggesting: 1) My site is listed in ODP. 2) My suggestions are not meant as criticism. 3) I plead guilty to ignorance. I am not a web professional. Here are three suggestions 1) "suggest a site" step four: "Auto-submission software is a violation of this procedure. Sites submitted automatically are flagged and deleted after the submission is accepted without notification to you". This may not be worth mentioning. Stupid me. I'm not an auto-submitter so I thought I would be notified. Perhaps somewhere in the guide. "Submitters will not be notified if their site is rejected". I did find a footnote in my catigory. The Open Directory Project does not list sites that are under construction. We describe and categorize by the content we can see, not by the content we're told will be there someday. Submitting a site and hoping to finish it before it's reviewed can be very counterproductive for you. Please build your site first, then submit it. Reversing that order reduces your chance of being listed.

I think this is quite appropriate listing, since I do work in egg tempera and have articles about the medium, further resources and particulars of the medium available on the site. Our company is currently listed in the 'web hosting' category on DMOZ/ODP, at http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/H/ However, our company has evolved and web hosting is no longer a primary part of our business. I'm back!!! I have submitted two sites to DMOZ and so far none have ever been listed. I know Shoparama.com will never get listed. Shwing.com has been in queue for almost a year. I'm having submission anxiety because I just don't seem to have luck with DMOZ. Anyroad, here goes.. Several years ago, I noticed our website was removed from the Dmoz directory. When I went to submit it, it was swiftly rejected. I then applied to be an editor and that too was immediately rejected. Our company is one of the largest leaders in our field of business. Our website is close to 3000 pages of information rather than sales pitches. The site lacks any violations that Dmoz.org cites for rejection. As a matter of fact, since inception, our company's website was the only website in our field that provided as much specific information to the prospecitive customer for what was being sold as ours. Hello all. This is my first time posting so I hope I'm in the right place. I listed with DMOZ over 2 1/2 years ago and still never received a confirmation but I'm hopeful it was gathered in. I've done searches before six months ago and it always told me there was no listing for my company. I have several sites now that have not been accepted. I noticed that the difference between those that have and those that haven't is that some are domains registered private (ownership details hidden). Can anyone comment or give advice on this please.
