Hi there! Quick question: I think I messed up on submitting my own sites and a few for clients. I didn't read the guidelines enough (my fault) and may have used company slogans and the like. I understand that's against policy and I respect that. Can I resubmit my sites and have an editor remove my previous ones from the lineup? Is there any way of doing it right the second time? Thanks.

Hello DMOZ community, My website, the Gighub, was submitted to the dmoz site several weeks ago. I totally understand that the DMOZ is completly volunteer operated and that you guys probably get hundreds of thousands of site submitted for review each day and that site can take anywhere from hours to years to be included. WIth that being said, I think the issue that the majority of people have is that is basically no way to tell if a site still has not been reviewed, or if the site has been rejected. If at all possible, i was hoping that you guys could inform me if my site has been reviewed or not. Thank you!

Hello How do we get an editor to look 2 categories that have not had an editor for at least a year? As our site is an online magazine that covers multiple verticals we must add our listing to the following 2 categories. Our one site covers house/home/family/pets/health/décor…etc. thus it cannot be added to category that has a editor. Our second site cover multiple pets, thus we cannot just lit it under dogs or cats. We added our main ‘Home” site to http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/Canada/News_and_Media/Magazines_and_E-zines/ on September 11 / 2013. Hello, We've been listed for years, and looking back.. I should have left well enough alone. I began directing traffic to the non-www version of our site last fall, and also set up a 301 permanent redirect on our website. Stupidly, I messed with my DMOZ listing to reflect this change by trying the 'Update Listing' for this minor correction. After no changes were processed, in mid-December I submitted a 'Suggest A Site'. Now, sadly, my site was removed completely, and I'm kicking myself for this. Essentially, I messed with the Holy Grail of listings to change one minor thing, and now I've lost my listing altogether. Am I out of luck? Can I file for a reconsideration?…

i dont understand why it takes so long to get a link in dmoz. maybe people are just lazy not doing there Job. if you dont like helping people whats the point. im sure you will delete this but it true. the whole point is to help other websites. maybe this website is useless. beginning to wonder. just stating a fact peace and love

I tried to suggest our website almost a year ago with no success so far. We follow every step to create appropriate submission but funny thing is that other similar websites were already listed despite the fact that their website were suggested later (we get that info directly from site administrators). Even though ODP is volunteer organisation looks like their are double standars...

I didn´t know if I sent it several times it could cause to treating it like spam, but i was thinking i didn´t it correctly and because of it I was sending again. Our site was listed http://www.dmoz.org/...ts/Baskets/ It was removed for some unknown reasons. I submitted our site back to that category and see that six months later someone reviewed the category and choose to leave us out. Since we are one of the biggest gift basket companies in the US, I find that odd. Just think it looks suspicious, I guess I am hoping to validate the reasons for exclusion.

Hi, the site I'm attempting to suggest is an Australian consumer electronics online store. There is no link to suggest this site in the consumer electronics category, but as it sells at least some items in almost every sub-category, I am unsure where I should put it! It doesn't seem appropriate to suggest it to a subcategory which only applies to a small portion of the items, wouldn't it get rejected if I did this? The site has consumer electronics, computer components and software, electronic gifts and gadgets. Any advice here would be appreciated!

Hi, We submitted a site about a year ago and it has not been added to the directory. The site recently just moved to a new URL and went through some rebranding. The old URL has been 301 redirected to the new URL. Question: Do we completely resubmit the site as a new entry into the same category? Or is there another course of action we can take to update the old submission? Thanks!

As a rule, is it acceptable to submit a site which I don't own (eg. one I've had a good experience with as a customer)? ... or can sites be submitted only by their owners? I ask this because, whilst I may believe a site would be a useful addition to a category, I'd have no idea if the owner had already submitted it or not . If it turns out they had, I'd hate to send their site back to the start of the waiting list for review.
