Hi, I applied a while ago to become an editor for the computer chatbots pages, I modified my application as then advised and believe that my application was then accepted. However when I try to login as an editor I get a message saying that email address needs verification. If I have indeed been accepted as an editor, can you resend the request for verification to my email address as I never received the original request. Have added DMOZ to my safe-mail list, so all should be fine now. Many thanks Miniracer37

Hey DMOZ-ites, I applied a few weeks (maybe months) ago to be a volunteer editor for a category. When we submit an application, is there usually a confirmation e-mail associated with it? I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't something wrong with my submission, whether it be browser error submitting the form or whatever other number of variables it could be. I applied under <email removed, never post your email online to guard your privacy> if there is some way of checking. I'm not really in a hurry like many seem to be on here..but I'm definitely excited to help make the web as credible as many academic databases are! Thanks, Devin

Hello, Some years ago I was a Dmoz editor for a small niche category. I was unable to maintain editor status (insufficient time) and allowed my account to lapse. Now I'm retired I would really like to pick up my account again. The problem is, I no longer have access to the email used nor do I have the password. So the form recognizes my username (rooze) and emails me a password reminder, but I can't receive it at the address you have on file! Please help, I would love to be active again as editor in my small category. If it helps, I believe the old email was chruza@netnet.net Many Thanks CH

Over a number of years now, I have attempted to get sites listed on DMOZ, but without results. I've read the requirements, followed the procedures, but nothing. It has been incredibly frustrating. A couple of times I've applied to become an editor. I followed the application process, but got no response. I'm not saying I was rejected, I got no response at all. I was quite upfront in my application to be an editor, explaining that I wanted to be able to get my sites listed, but also that I would be fair and impartial in helping others get listed as well. Hello Jim. I applied to become an editor on September 13, 2011. I know it has been less than two weeks since I applied but I think you might be able to assist me with this issue. I was unaware that I needed to confirm my email address via a validation key when I submitted my application. After reading a blog on becoming an editor I quickly searched my spam folder and found the email with the validation key. When I click on the link in the email I receive a message stating "Not a valid key". Does the receipt of this message indicate that I have to submit another application? Hello, I submitted an application to become an editor approximately 1 week ago. I received an email asking me to validate my email but the action timed out. I reloaded the email and was greeted with a 'not a valid key' message. Initially I thought perhaps I had received that message since I applied with a free email account. After reading through the forums today I realize what happened. I waited about a week for a response just in case, but decided to submit another application yesterday under a different email address. Hello, I applied on August 26 for the category http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Chat/Virtual_Places/Chatrooms/ I was just wondering what the status of my application is? Have any other applicants received a "Not a Valid Key" message in response to validating your email address? For some reason it didn't work for me. Hi everyone, I'm trying to reinstate my account (Looper), but I only get the "User does not exist, or username/password is incorrect." notification once I submit the form. The email adress must be correct. I recieved my password request notices was able to change the password, so the account must still be in existance. Last year I tried to apply for a new account before I realized that it's possible to reinstate old accounts. Did that get me on an abuse list? Cheers Looper

Hi all, I applied to be a ODP editor on the 10th March 2011. The catergory was: http://www.dmoz.org/Sports/Martial_Arts/Kung_Fu/Wing_Chun/Schools_and_Instruction/Europe/United_Kingdom/ Username: Todai I received an email dated the 28th July 2011 saying my application had been succesful, however I am unable to login. I am almost certain I am putting in the right username and password, although originally I did have problems getting the editor application form to process. I was an ODP editor a couple of years ago. My account expired due to inactivity. However, I'd like to reinstate my editor account. However, when I apply through the Editor Reinstatement form, the system rejects my application with the following error message: "User does not exist, or username/password is incorrect." So I also tried the "password reset" form, but the system does NOT send me any email to reset my password. My old editor username was "wesleyh", and my old email address is still the same. Can someone please help me?

Hi there I applied to be an editor on Feb 1 2011 but shortly afterwards my email account was closed because of hushmail's stupid attempt to get users to pay for services. Anyways, I could not access my account and don't know if I missed e-mails but had to pay them to access other email anyways.
