I received the following this afternoon. I suspect the 24-7 folk scraped addresses from the dmoz site submission status discussion (I just love it when people say "this isn't spam".... I'm curious to know if anyone else received it. Hi, I'm the author/president/idiot in charge of the ****ty Blogs Club. I am thrilled that we are listed under "Worst of the Web," I couldn't agree more. But your description of the site says, "Humorous 'awards' given to weblogs the author deems to be of poor quality." There are a number of sites that do that, but this is not one of them. The site is just what it says it is, a club for bloggers whose blogs suck, and they not only know it, they are proud of it. We do give awards from time to time, but only to members based on their merits as members. A more appropriate description might be, "Club for losers who can't even blog well." I don't really care…

Hello, I am curious as how it can take some sites years to get in but on a couple of certain sites one has 4,850 entries And then another has over 38,000 entries? Some entries are quite new for both. How is this fair? Obviously these sites have people on the inside. Furthermore it seems sub-categories are created just for these sites. An editor would have to work full time for any one of these sites. There are a several more like this and they are all Branded sites that heavily utilize Adwords and I am sure spend huge advertisement dollars with Google. Thanks WW

Enter a search for thatsmyhome.com (http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=thatsmyhome.com) and you will find 20 listings for this domain. The listings don't point to a domain/subdomain or a folder, but to individual pages that cover one particular recipe.

Hello,i was very happy when i got the news that my website been accepted the next day after i submitted it to the DMOZ. thank you very much and share my happiness here. after that i found a problem within the DMOZ.my web was accepted in the category :Top/World/Chinese Simplified/商业(business)/ 交通运输(transportation)/交通控制 (traffic control) (3) and the name of my website is "深圳市华美进实业发展有限公司" . Please check this directory listing Regional: Asia: Philippines: Provinces: Benguet: Baguio City Of the 10 sites listed, 4 are owned by the same person, Lisa Araneta: Atenara House Baguio Insider Baguio Table Tennis League Go Baguio! Is Lisa Araneta an editor in this section? Isn't it a little biased to have 40% of the directory listing to belong to only one person? After asking around, a couple of other Baguio sites have not been accepted into the directory even after a year of application, and yet Lisa Araneta's sites are accepted? Will somebody look into this, please, as the current directory for Baguio City is rather stale and grossly biased.

There is a catagory at Top: Regional: North America: United States: Business and Economy: Legal Services: Referral Services: Where there are 2 catagories below that start with "law offices of". Why are they there? Should they not be in there regioal catagorie like all the other lawyers. Every lawyer is a refferal service.

I filed an abuse report on someone who stole my entire web site word for word, same design, graphics, etc. They are also located in the same city as me. The next day I checked the status of id# a36ad3a6930660ccc23acb30e11f28f3 and it is saying it has been resolved. The stolen web site is still listed in the dmoz directory (the same city and directory mine is listed in) I have all kinds of proof to back up my claim but no one asked for it. Yahoo has already yanked them from their search engine and Google is currently doing an investigation. Why are they still listed in the dmoz directory? I don't know where to turn anymore. To whom it may concern: First I'd like to apologize for any neglegance on my part for any wrong doing. Please understand that it is not my intention to do so. gregh@alternativesecurity.com In the past year, my account was flagged as spammer due to my not knowing of the existance of this site (resource-zone.com) and getting server 500 errors during submission.
