Hello, nearly 2 years ago I submitted my website. After waiting 6 months from that date, I assumed my submission was rejected so I submitted again. Alas, a year from the first submission I still had nothing. I am completely confused. I am sure you guys know best how to best run things; but there are indeed some problems. My question is, why not automate? A person opens an account, then opens a request--the request is either accepted or rejected and there can be real-time status on what is going on. A chain of comments etc. A history of who is "on the case" etc.

A few days ago i was looking through a catagory and was suprised to find a number sites which were either dead, or haven't been udpated in months. I used the abuse submission form to report the issue. Today using the ID, i checked the status of the report an was suprised to see that the issus is discribed as "resolved." But i don't see any changes to the catagory.... The catagory is related to a hot topic right now andi find it a bit disapointing to see the catagory so far behind a3a9c1c88eba43676a535d6767e00912

Sorry if this is not the best place to post - not obvious where to place it. Website host listing at http://www.google.com/Top/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/Free/Personal/ still has mywbpage.netscape.com as a very respectable performer. It was flawed eighteen months ago and for at least the last four months has reduced to a feeble search mechanism, with NO facilities for maintaining the hosted sites or for creating new ones - or even for posting an 'abandoned ship' notice on an existing site. ALL efforts to communicate with these people have failed, incidentally At this point they should not be listed at all.

There are two web sites for organisations in Olton, Solihull, West Midlands, UK which seem to be getting mixed up on search engines. Sites in question are listed at: http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/West_Midlands/Olton/ One is Olton Baptist Church the other is Langley School. The church, as it happens, meet at Langley School which could possibly cause confusion. It could be that search engines are reading the entries incorrectly. Hello, I found this very smart way to spam from one of your dmoz listed sites in this Category site description is: Diann and Glen Tonnesen - Prudential Americana Group Realtors - Provides residential realty services. Includes featured homes and team profile plus details on neighborhoods, golf communities, and condominium projects. If you click on any Nav menu item, then go to the middle of the frame if you use IE, right click, goto properties, look at what the url shows, copy and paste that url into your brower, you pull up another page which by the way is now static with no navigation menu and a different url than the frame page, but with the EXACT same content...he…

A little bit of confusion between these two categories. To my poor, untrained eye, it seems as though they both do the same thing, upon reviewing the listed sites. I am not sure if there's something I am missing, and I hope there is, because I am applying for Writer's Resources: Chats and Forums editor-ship, and would like to know before I get the inevitable DENIED letter. 2 quick questions, as odp is only listing unique quality sites, -is there a policy in place, deleting those sites that have one or more mirror sites exposed to the public? (not talking about the one listed in odp) -how about sites containing half a page and more stuffed with hidden text/keywords?

We have specific problems in English-language categories for countries where English is not one of the official languages. 1. Many, many sites not in English are submitted to the English-language Regional category for the relevant country. According to our Guidelines, they should be moved to the appropriate category in World. Experienced editors will do that, but sometimes inexperienced editors list the sites in Regional. (In some cases sites appear to have an English-language version, but in fact it is under construction, or goes no deeper than the menu. That could slip past an editor's guard. Hello I wonder if anyone can help direct me? If a site description in a category shows something different to the entry in the index (i.e. when you search on the domain name the index holds a different description and category to the directory listing), how is this fixed? If a defamatory entry is removed from a category but remains in the index (when a more accurate category listing exists), how is this fixed? Hi, can I know if the editors of the Scuba Diving section are still active in the DMOZ project? My experience is that I owned over 12 diving websites, and since 2005. (january) I have submitted my sites... well over 13 months later not one of them is on DMOZ... and guess what? every 4 months I do the whole process again. I just find this quite funny. Any idea?

I now understand that quality issues should be reported in the long thread above. Is this the case whether a category has a listed editor or not? Or should quality issues first be reported to the editor when one exists? I'm not talking about abuse, just quality issues within a category. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was recently checking on my listing in the ODP, I ran some keyword searches and my site was listed in a very good position plus it was shown to be in the directory '/Shopping/Jewelry/Watches/Replicas/'. The domain is milleniumreplicawatches.com. I have resubmitted it because i believe it was taken out for being down, there was a hosting issue and while in Europe i didn't know till I returned. Since it is still being listed as in the directory and coming up with the search 'replica watches' does it still need to go through the editorial process?
