Hello,i was very happy when i got the news that my website been accepted the next day after i submitted it to the DMOZ. thank you very much and share my happiness here. after that i found a problem within the DMOZ.my web was accepted in the category :Top/World/Chinese Simplified/商业(business)/ 交通运输(transportation)/交通控制 (traffic control) (3) and the name of my website is "深圳市华美进实业发展有限公司" . Now the problem is the number of this category in Chinese Simplified is "3", but in other languages they show the category in Chinese Simplified is "2". this problem till now is about one month. I would like to express my concern over the online gambling categories, and specifically http://www.dmoz.org/Games/Gambling/Guides/. Over the last two years I have submitted about five sites for inclusion in this and other gambling related categories. Needless to say they were not included (else I would not be here posting this). Let me first say this. I accept that not everything will be good enough, even if I may think it is. This industry probably has some of the worst affiliate website and spammy networks there is online. The category is http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Uniforms/Medical/ 1/ Two listings for "Green Scrubs". They go to two different URL's, but the same exact site. 2/ "Scrubs Unlimited" is part of Greenscrubs.com and scrubs.com, just go to either of those URL's and click on the links graphic. 3/ Professional Uniforms title should be Lydia's Uniforms. There are sites in there that are no longer working for example this domain - http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~john.gaskell/ as well as this website http://tigerfoot.com/ which is linking out to casinos. abusive forum moderator on here Damn it, this is ridiculous, not only were my non-malicious posts asking why my site was removed from dmoz were deleted, but my forum account here also got banned. I dont think it was because i broke forum rules or seomthing, because i read them thoroughly, i made a very common request and got abused by a moderator on here, in the "General ODP Issues" section. I had two website submitted almost year ago. None of them are included in the DMOZ category. Today after doin a research i found why.... Editor of both the category owns the website like me and don't include my website because they don't want to have competition. I know i have the read the thread here about "no such thing as competitiive website" But I think they are banning me for selfish and avoid competition even though my website has more content and info. Hello everyone, I am sure anyone has mentioned it before. But, I think the whole category is useless and unnecessary. In my opinion, to be listed in "Online Archives", the site must have a searchable database or an index that links to all news articles. If the site doesn't provide that, ODP shouldn't build an index for the site. Thanks 1q1q1q

I've just found a site linking to mine which contains a copy of the ODP directory data. The site doesn't mention the odp or have the 'support/become editor' box. Again when entering my details to another directory I noticed a similarity with the ODP directory. Some of the entries appeared to be exact copies of ODP data though in places new ones had been added. The site states that its directory is based on the ODP. It looks to me as if they took a copy of part of the ODP some while back and used it as a seed for their directory. I run NetSweat.com - http://www.netsweat.com. According to DMOZ, my site should be listed under "Health:Fitness:Personal Training:Online". (http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=netsweat ). These sites are owned by the same person and offer redundant information, cross linking to and from each other as well as false representation. The web cam page is not live and has been showing the same loop for the past 3 years(or more). It is clearly designed to increase page rank as is evidenced by the excessive crosslinking.
