What if individuals not affilitated with a particular site submit that site not knowing that the site has already been submitted. For instance, say someone finds a great site about monkeys and submits it and does not realize that it is already on dmoz under a different catagory, etc. What protects the company from being considered a spammer when they have no control over the public? Can somebody help me? I was suggested a website two or tree times. In fact the website is not listed. These days I have understanding that this is against the rules. Is there any option for clearing double or triple suggesting stats and to suggest again? The faults are human feature. Maybe some option like “Request reconsideration” (from Google Webmaster Tools) will be very good feature. Thanks in advance, Nikolay

Our link for "Math Learning Center" is seriously incorrect and is leading to misrepresentation of our business to customers and search engine results. It appears on such pages as the search results for keyword search "math learning center". Hello, maybe a newbie question, but so far I haven't found solution for this: I'm trying to fix my site title and description: Searching in dmoz, http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=pr%C3%A1zdniny+v+tel%C4%8Di returns right category (http://www.dmoz.org/World/%C4%8Cesky/Kultura/Hudba/Festivaly/), under which I see my web right listed with updated title and desc. But on search page, under Open Directory Sites is still old title and description, how do I make it updated?

Do Search Engines really submit your website for free? I've created a website, an online wholesale merchandise store and more. I know the webhost has submitted it into it's Search Engine, at lest that's what they tell me, but I know I'm not getting the traffic I need to get to make sales. I've tried submitting it to Search Engines that say they'll submit it for free, but are they really submitting it? And if so, why do they want me to add their link to my website if they're offering this service for free? Thanks for your reply, newyork

Why are Editors not reviewed or tested on their "definitions" of Dmoz's rules? Two of them <editor names removed> were doing nothing but mocking and goading the person asking the question here, and their definitions are contrary to Dmoz's own: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=55182 There should be a way to reprimand editors for such behavior. There should also be a way to have them reviewed based on statements they've made as to their own inaccurate (and contradictory to Dmoz's own) definitions of certain phrases that Dmoz uses in its terms. This shows users that Dmoz has no respect for them, and that the integrity of Dmoz is questionable…

I made a post a couple of days ago regarding a relevancy issue in a directory. It looks like my post was read as 2 of the 3 sites were removed. Though, it looks like my post was deleted (or maybe I just can't find it). When you find a relevancy issue or an outdated site issue, what is the proper way to communicate that? These really aren't abuse issues, but are related to the quality/relevancy of results. Thanks.

As Dmoz feeds many of the search engines i feel as though it has a duty in part to restrict spam sites. However, i am a little confused as to the stance that editors take on this matter. I have found and reported websites using very bad tactics such as using hidden links which then feed into subpages loaded with keywords. These are then found in the search results of search engines. I have reported to my category editor this website on a number of occassions but have heard nothing back? Are these websites considered spam and is it worth making editors aware or are they not really that concerned once a site is in the directory?

I have a question/issue. In a category on http://chefmoz.org/ there are two domains of which one is redirecting to a subdomain on the other. So the same domain is listed twice, for example: title1 http://www.a.com/ title2 http://www.b.com/ and b.com redirects to sub.a.com (but the page on the subdomain is obviously part of and can be accessed through the same website) Now I have informed the editor of this category weeks ago but no action whatsoever was taken (the category has not been changed since 2007). Recently I've noticed my high quality site along with several other quality sites were removed by a new editor that now promoted his own websites which are direct competitors of my'n and the other removed, its a shame that this is the quality of editors around here, his execuse for removing my site and adding his competitors sites was that I should refer to Dmoz guidelines, while his sites and dishonest behavior is not in agreement with any of Dmoz guidelines... Dmoz is very slow...I've waited over a year to get listed and now some AH remove my quality site and promote his own sites and there's nothing I can do about it... I've filed a complain but nothing happened …

I find it somewhat disgusting the comments I received from an editor about my site. I was not asking for personal feedback regarding my listing...just wanted to know the status. Why would this editor launch into an attack like this? This directory is doomed for extinction, it is so dishonest it makes me puke. I have submitted many QUALITY websites during the years (and I know what quality is: I am no white or black hat seo of any kind, but I just work hard on delivering great original content, that's all). Dear Sirs, http://www.immigrationassist.co.uk/ is no longer a website. They display hosting information. And http://www.workpermit.com/ is the same website with http://www.ukimmigration.com/ and same company. On http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Immigration/ you have http://www.valuevisas.org/ that completly changed the site into poor forum and I do not think it should be listed in this category.
