Hello Everyone. This is my first post in the QoS section, so please excuse the question if your more experienced audience find it already addressed somewhere else. The questions is Why don't DMOZ send out email confirmations. Please review this quote below from an editor regarding how long it takes to get listed on DMOZ: I researched this issue and am yet to find a single intelligent answer from any source of authority within DMOZ on why DMOZ as a "policy", do not use direct email confirmations for new submissions, status check, approval or even rejection of new listings. I hope someone will hear this plea in the wilderness. I have a web site reviewed here, url removed, with the blurb "largely drawn from the Northwest Architectural Archives." In point of fact, only 40% of the content of my site links to the indicated University of Minnesota archival collection. This description diminishes the contributions of many others who have gone to great efforts to provide scholarly reference material. I'm the brand manager for People-Trak and we have a listing in the Go-Site directory. Here we are with a niagara falls travel guide and hotel and have tried to have our site/s listed for the better part of 5 years and i am attaching an example of what appears in the directory, a PPC parking page yet after 5 years with the most detailed and interactive website IMHO of niagara falls we still cant get listed. Our website title of which is “<title>” URL <URL> which is listed under <category> as follows (<ODP listing>) This title is not correct, the title of our website is “<title>" and because <keyword> is missing from the title on this page it is having an effect on our business, as <keyword> is a prime keyword for our business, is it possible for someone to add <keyword> to our title on the above DMOZ page. FYI, A listing named: "Lotto Creo Professional" under Top: Games: Gambling: Lotteries: Software and Tools, is trying to install backdoors and trojans. It even says that you need to install their ActiveX.... When I click this listing my AntiVirus ( NOD32 ), is shouting repeatedly. Good day

Hello there, I have been browsing the forum for information on listings and found friendly advice that I would try. I suggested a website to the following area over a year ago now and have no result with my listing. I have monitored the http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Alternative/Massage_Therapy_and_Bodywork/Thai_Massage/ and have also noticed that there have been no changes to this area since my submission, so would like to inform editors that this area has been inactive for quite some time. I have read all submission and editor guidlines, so I am aware of your policies, however would greatly appreciate a review of this area. Many thanks

For fear of sounding petty, I wondered how the site http://www.fitnessoptions.co.uk managed to get into the category below. After all it is merely a static page - hardly quality content. Business > Consumer Goods and Services > Sporting Goods > Fitness Equipment A little annoying when my own sites http://www.thehealthzone.co.uk or http://www.one-life.me.uk have not been added in the six months of trying, even though they have pages of useful content.

My sites have been running for two and a half years and have been listed in DMOZ for over 2 year, and have remained the same sites for that period, providing the same service and then all of a sudden they BOTH are gone? I can't help but feel that something is up? What can I do about this - I don't want to resubmit my sites and wait 3 years for them to be added, and I'd like an explanation as to why they were removed. So what can I do?

My boss recently mentioned that he would like the description of our publication, which appears on google and other search engines, to be changed. Currently, it is a somewhat inaccurate and generally "non-eloquent" description. After surfing the internet a bit, I learned that I must be an editor with the open directory project/resource zone to do this; additionally, this service (the ability to request an edit or sign up to be an editor) is temporarily unavailable. I am Waqas Nasir, CTO of Xebtech Systems. Xebtech Systems is pioneer software house in Karachi Pakistan working since 1998. I have submitted the site to relevant directory of Software Development and Search Engine Optimization , but in both cases, its rejected or i dont know how much time it takes.
