Re: Not displayed within Category Your site was listed in that category on 10th August 2003. The public pages aren't updating at the moment due to a small bug that staff are searching for. Once it's fixed, you will be able to see your listing.
-
Last month an editor came across your site, decided that it belonged in the Support_Groups sub-category, and moved it there. It's now waiting in a smallish queue for another editor to take a look at it.

Still waiting in Adult/Computers/Internet/Searching/Link_Sites/Picture_Posts/ I'm afraid. There's been no movement in that area at all recently. I think all the editors are waiting for the server upgrades, after which the system will be much more responsive and easier to work with.

Re: Missing - AR orgs cat and subcats - Part 1 By "I managed ... sobisch's post" I meant that I had had time to sort out the problem that you addressed in that post. The public side of dmoz is currently not connected to the editor side, so the changes I made do not show yet. We're expecting the public side to start updating at some point after the 20th, though it might take even longer.

Re: Missing - AR orgs cat and subcats - Part 1 Now that the ODP server is stable, and isn't scheduled to go down for maintenance, I've been able to get in and do some of these. I managed brunnock's post, sobisch's post, and two of koibito's posts. That leaves a koibito, two Daves, and a Patrick13 still to do.

>> Hope the open directory can be more open << We are being open. We're openly telling you that we have a shortage of editors, and there simply aren't enough to ensure that every category gets attention once a month. Alucard openly says that there is really no point in you coming back after exactly one month, it's far better to wait two or three. That way you won't be disappointed so often. If you'd like to volunteer to help out somewhere, that would be greatly appreciated, and it would lighten the load for the editors that work around the Singapore Employment categories, possibly resulting in your site being listed more quickly. If you don't want to volunteer your services, then you'll just have to accept the situation the way it is.

It's still waiting there I'm afraid. Your Regional submission got listed though. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Re: status : http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.c >> "professional" just means you get paid for it, it doesn't mean you have a clue << Ah yes, my mistake. I keep forgetting that "professional" just means 'someone that engages in an activity as a profession' (ie. someone that makes money out of doing something). This is how we can have "professional criminals", and "professional fraudsters". Please re-read my post substituting the word 'competent' for 'professional'.

Re: status : http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.c >> I talked with my website designer, he said to make it [...] 100% compatable with every browseer would cost me another $20,000. << Get another web designer. Professional web designers write code that will work on any current browser, it isn't difficult to do. If they aren't capapble of following web design standards, and they didn't bother to tell you that some customers wouldn't be able to see your site, why should you trust them with any more of your business?

Re: Few more Missing And now all of koibito's post is done too. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Re: URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ON All of pudsey's post done. I've left bondvacations.com in there. Yes, it does have some broken images, but this doesn't affect the site's usability.
-
Re: Few more Missing The last 5 items have all been taken care of. Thanks to all.
-
Not any more. It seems the reviewing editor did not feel that any of your sites were appropriate for listing.
-
Re: Web_Applications/Databases All done from both posts, except the kuro5hin.org link in the anti-Coke category. Could you let me know which site it is summarising please. <add> Never mind. I looked at the kuro5hin site and it's obvious which one it's summarising. Link removed </add>

Not quite a year and a half, your submission is dated 7th August 2002. It's still there in a very large queue, and I'm afraid I can say nothing more comforting than "it will be reached one day". If we had more editors, we'd be able to clear the backlog faster, but we don't.
-
Re: 1 has no content , rest missing All sorted from Society/Issues/Business/Allegedly_Unethical_Firms/Monsanto/ and Society/Activism/Anti-Corporation/McDonald's/. Thanks for those.

Your submission is still sitting there in a huge queue, waiting for someone to come along and look at it. I'm sure you realise that this is a very spam prone area, and it requires lots of checking before anything can be added. Right now, what with the servers being updated and editing capacity limited, we have other priorities.
-
It's still there in the queue. It seems we have a shortage of jiving editors.
-
Re: Not very helpful... >> I thought the purpose of this forum was to actually get a status report? << Status reports do not include a detailed analysis of the category in question, they just include the status of the site. Your status is "waiting for review".
-
Re:Status: mobiledestination.com It's still in the queue I'm afraid. Things have been slow recently but the new server upgrades should see some movement in the unreviewed queues some time soon.
-
>> excuses about inability to afford more servers/bandwidth are absurd << If you'd looked around before posting here you'd have noticed several people talking about the server upgrades that are under way *right now*. We know there is a problem, and something is being done about it. Until the upgrades are complete, you'll just have to sit tight and wait.
-
You don't need to do anything. Your site is in the queue, waiting for an editor to come along and review it. I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient.
-
Re: TrainingSchools.net - Site submit status neede I could tell you your place in the queue, but since other editors might sort the queue differently, it wouldn't be of much use to you. In addition, we do not require editors to work their way through a queue in any particular order, they can pick and choose as they wish.

Re: URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ON The search index hasn't be re-created since the URL was changed in that category. It'll be sorted out on the next re-indexing, which we expect to be in 2 or 3 weeks, after some new hardware has been installed for it. What's in Google's directory and Google's search is none of our concern.

Re: Status: http://www.MonotStreet.com/ I'm afraid it's still stuck in the sorting process. There have been technical problems at the ODP recently that make editing large categories very difficult. New servers are on the way, and we expect that our ability to work with large numbers of submissions will dramatically improve once they are installed. I'm afraid I have to ask you to be patient with us over the next few weeks.
