  1. It was moved to Shopping/Jewelry for review there.
  2. That depends. If the editor reviewing it doesn't think it should be listed at all (say, he finds it full of affiliate links, or discovers that it is a mirror of another site) he will delete it from the unreviewed. If he thinks it is not right for his category, but belongs elsewhere, he will send it either to another category where he thinks it will fit better or to a more general category for evalutation as to where it should go. Of course, the more people who look have to look at a site before listing it, the longer it takes. That's why we encourage people to try and find the best spot themselves before they submit. However, we generally don't delete sites from the unreviewed group just because we don't agree with the spot chosen. We move it along.
  3. Re: Status: http://www.MonotStreet.com/ Still waiting with a few other submissions.
  4. The key lies at the bottom of the page. Last update: 19:07 PT, Friday, July 11, 2003 Your site was added on July 22nd, but the page hasn't updated yet. However your site is in the RDF dump and our search engine, and is being picked up by other search engines. It just doesn't show up on our on our public pages yet. Normally it would be there by now, but we are currently going through some upgrades, so these aren't normal times.
  5. Re: URL and cat. Change Simply go to the cat where azatiko.com is now listed. Click on the Update URL link near the top right hand corner and follow directions. You will be asked for both the old and new urls. There will also be a field for any comments you care to make. Since azatiko.com is gone, it's prior existence shouldn't affect capitallogodesign.com Windharp was faster.
  6. Your choice of category looks good to me. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> You could apply to Regional/North_America/United_States/Ohio/Localities/W/West_Jefferson/Business_and_Economy as well. We often give sites two listings - one in Topical and one in Regional. Your site seems to be the type that would qualify for both.
  7. >Detailed information about how to tune a car would not belong in the Ford dealership category, even if such information was sponsored and maintained by Ford, especially if it was the only such information available on the net or in print. True. The Ford site would be listed in Business, but the detailed information on car tuning could also be listed in another category if it were really unique content and not something available in many places. Likewise, if the alpaca site contains unique content of particular interest it is possible that that section of the site could be submitted to another part of the directory. If it contains much information on breeding then possibly that section could be submitted to http://dmoz.org/Science/Agriculture/Animals/Mammals/Breeding_and_Biotechnology for consideration. I say possibly. I don't know the site in question. I am merely agreeing with what you say about Ford and controlling hoof rot in horses. These pages could be submitted to other categories and the editors there would decide whether or not it was unique content which would add value to that part of the directory. Choosing the correct category to submit to is very important here, for if a site is not listed at all we will try and forward the site to the right category for listing when we find it submitted in the wrong place. However, if it is already listed, the additional pages are not as likely to be forwarded to another category. Likewise submitting to multiple categories, can get a site labeled as spam, so it pays to choose wisely and not get greedy.
  8. Here's a suggestion: Try applying for a small cat with under 30 listings from Regional/Europe/Ukraine/Localities first. It should be easier to get.
  9. People ~are~ sometimes reinstated. I'm not a meta, but I know that. I see the reinstatements in the logs. So, I would say it depends on why you were kicked out. From what you say, I'm wondering... Is it possible the computer kicked you out because of a corrupt password file? Did you ever try logging in a day or two later? It is ~possible~ that you were kicked out by a computer glitch and not a person at all. If less than 4 months have passed, try your old editor name and password and see if you can get back in.
  10. Editor Status Please change my status to that of an editor as well. Thanks.
