That's what they were asking for. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> Your site is awaiting review in that category along with about 150 others at this time (no, we don't know how long it will take for the site to be reviewed -- the submission date on it is Jan. 26, 2003). It has never been listed or even touched by an editor so far (as the others said) so I don't where you thought you saw it listed. If the site had been listed but was removed, it is highly unlikely you would have received any kind of notification of the fact as editors rarely enter into email contact with submitters.

Technically, that's not quite true. Sure, your main page validated but the subsequent frameset is not nor are the frameset's component pages. You can't just validate the index page and assume that the rest are fine. My guess would be that it is the invalid FRAMESET coding that is causing the site to unviewable in anything but IE. You might also want to check datwayR2.jpg -- it is showing up as a plain white image rather than the right arrow I think you mean it to be.

And in this case in particular, since the chief officers for whom your organization exists are in more than just the Computer industry, the site is best suited to a more general "Management" type category rather than the more specific Computer Organizations category.

By all means, though, if you come across a site that gives a 200 OK (which wouldn't trigger a flag by our automated run) but the site says the company is out of business, feel free to PM one of the editall or meta editors that post here regularly (me, for example) and they'll look into it.

There's no need to divulge them to submitters, either, and, in fact, many legitimate reasons not to divulge them. Not all editors put that kind of information on their profile page anyway and, unless they do, you have no idea what they do or where they are. If you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't even be concerned that the named editor of a category might be in the same trade or country as you. As for "longer than usual", review times can be anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of years so how do you determine "usual"? Finally, as someone else said, there are an awful lot of editors who can edit anywhere in the directory who could be the ones reviewing sites in the category you submit to, even if there is a named editor in the category. Are you going to inspect the profiles and/or email every editor who could touch your site?

The submission is dated Feb. 27 (i.e. yesterday) which is way too soon to asking for a status. Please don't inquire about the status of the submission until at least a month after you submitted.

And please don't start a new thread for a site you've already asked about. Re-use the original thread.

In that area of the directory (i.e. Regional Singapore), your site is waiting in the best category for it (since networking is your primary field of work), though it's possible it may get listed at the Computers level if the reviewing editor chooses to put it there. Please don't submit it to any other Singapore category. The troubleshooting section might be listable somewhere under Top/Computers (possibly here) but I really didn't look too closely.

Re: http://www.vintagedesignerclothing.com/ You are only waiting in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Clothing/Used_and_Secondhand now and the queue there is under 200 sites. Any indication we could give you of where you site falls in that queue would be meaningless since editors aren't required to review the sites in any particular order.

Re: photography site I'd go ahead and submit it. It looks bilingual to me, though the French-only titles under the photos may influence the reviewing editor's opinion (you might want to put an English translation under each photo).

Damn. I know you've asked about this site before (in October 2002). I could have sworn it was here but I'll be darned if I can find a thread about it. I remember commenting that I didn't think there enough content to warrant listing it (that's still my opinion, by the way). The URL is actually http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~jkfoster/diets/ (we list the underlying URL, not the vanity domain name) and it is still waiting for review in that category. It's a large category that is very backlogged and prone to spam. It's probably going to be awhile before you get reviewed.

The site is currently in the queue in Las Vegas.
-
BTW I think that the first category you submitted to would have been the best choice for this site.

Re: Help - developer quit - trying to find submiss Well, Chevrolet and Cadillac are both owned by General Motors so they are related to each other. Is that the same relationship your two sites have? Note: I'm just curious. And, no, you're not in the queue of that category.
-
I would add an address to the primary site and submit the primary site to the appropriate locality.
-
Re: Help - developer quit - trying to find submiss So, is bestpeoplesearch.com the parent of or an affiliate of iinfosearch.com? They're obviously related.

Re: Help for changing the description Use the same URL, title, and description. There are sometimes differences in descriptions between a topical category and a Regional category (such as inclusion of the location in a topical description but removal of that location info from a Regional one) but in this case the description is appropriate for both.

It's only been 2.5 weeks since you last asked. Please leave at least a month between queries. Thanks.

You're there waiting with just a couple of other sites.

http://www.partywigs.co.uk/ doesn't actually offer remote shopping on its own (just through other companies) so it won't be eligible to be listed in Top/Shopping. http://www.sneakypumpkin.co.uk/ and http://www.carnivalnovelty.co.uk/ also don't offer any remote shopping so won't be eligible for listing in Top/Shopping. Since http://www.carnivalnovelty.co.uk/ seems to be the primary site, I'd say that it's the one that will end up getting listed somewhere.

Re: http://www.premium2000.com/ Cranky tone aside, I have to say that the site also strikes me as being a site selling a product (the additive) that just happens to offer a warranty if you use the product. Given the other sites in the category you've chosen, I don't think the site quite fits there -- I'd say it's a better fit in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Vehicles/Parts_and_Accessories/Lubricants/Additives/ since that is the key part of the warranty you're offering.
-
Assuming it gets approved at all, it could take anywhere from minutes to months.
-
Hmm, I had no problem submitting an update request from http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Iowa/Localities/D/Dubuque/ . Is that the exact URL you were on when you clicked "Update URL"?

You're currently sitting in unreviewed in the New Orleans category. Not sure of the value of the unique content on your site since your insider information is word-for-word identical to that provided by another site...but I'll leave that up to the resident editor.
