Continue waiting patiently. It's likely going to be awhile...and 3 months is really quite a short time (I know it doesn't feel like it but it is). I'd wait two, or even better three, months before coming back for another status check.

As a Shopping site that only sells within the UK, you're not going to get a listing in Business. You could submit to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Lancashire/Accrington/Business_and_Economy/
-
Actually, having looked at the site, you don't belong in http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Security/Products_and_Equipment/Fire_Fighting_Equipment/ because it's an online shopping site. You don't indicate where you ship to (just the UK? Europe? Worldwide?) -- if it is outside of the UK, then I would say http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Emergency_Supplies/Fire/ would be more appropriate. If it is just within the UK, then I would think http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/ would be the one.

Re: TrainingSchools.net - Site submit status neede Well, so much for the "wait at least a month" thing.

Re: TrainingSchools.net - Site submit status neede It's much too soon for you to be asking for a status update since you just got your last update on Apr 25 (barely 2 weeks ago). We ask that you leave at least a month between status checks (and leaving more time is probably better since it's unlikely that the site will be reviewed within the next month). I hope that you meant http://dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Directories and not the upper level Reference/Education as you put in your post.

URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ONLY
motsa replied to a topic in Quality Control Feedback
Re: URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ON They've all been taken care of (note: due to a quirk in the system, it looked as though they had already all been taken care but that's now been resolved). Thanks for reporting those. -
There's no way we can estimate how long it will take for a site to get reviewed. It could be days or it could be years. Two months is actually quite a small amount of time, all things considered.

Re: http://accessories-cellphones.com/ [i take it several posts have been removed from this thread?] This URL is a doorway page to http://www.cellphoneaccessoriesexpert.com/ and as such won't be listed.

>>or should I move on to another more likely listing? I would hope you followed our submission instructions and took the time to pick the most appropriate category to submit your site to the first time. Picking another category to submit to just in the hopes of speeding up your review will generally only have the opposite effect (or at the very least no effect at all except to perhaps annoy editors).

It hasn't been a month, yet. It'll have been a month on May 12 -- come back then.
-
Please read (and follow) the couple of threads that asked you to reuse your original thread. You were also asked to wait at least one month between queries. You last got a status update on April 7 -- it is currently May 4. Post in the original thread sometime after May 7 to get your status update. Thanks.

No category is without an editor, even if there is no "listed" editor there. All editalls, metas, and catmods (in that section) as well as parent category editors can editor categories without listed editors.
-
No, we can't give you that kind of information or give you an image of the submission itself.
-
Real estate categories (and this is one, even though it isn't under Real Estate) tend to be swamped with spam. Classifieds categories tend to be full of spam. Wading through all that to get to the listable sites isn't fun, I'm sorry to say.

URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ONLY
motsa replied to a topic in Quality Control Feedback
Re: URLs With Changed Content: Report Them Here ON Taken care of. Thanks. -
You're waiting there (though the submission date is only April 19, 2003) with a small number of other sites. You're also waiting in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Visual_Arts/Painting/Galleries . We can't give you a timeframe for review but it's there and will be reviewed eventually.
-
Editors are not required to review sites in chronological (and I'd bet that most don't) so there really is no "front" or "back" of the queue. Any count, therefore, would be meaningless in terms of how long it might take you to be listed.
-
We ask that people leave at least a month between queries. So, come back after May 4 and we'll be glad to give you an update.
-
Quite right. The engineering corps has moved your site to that category where it is now waiting.
-
Looks like an elf just listed you in Albuquerque. You're still waiting in the much more substantial queue in the Designers category.

Re: TrainingSchools.net - Site submit status neede First, it would be really nice if you could ease up on the use of exclamation points and all caps in your posts since that denotes yelling. I know you're het up but you might want to step back and think how your posts can be perceived by others. Are you talking about your status in the Business/Education_and_Training category you said you initially submitted to? Well, you've already been told that your site isn't appropriate for that category since you do not provide education or training services yourself. You are not waiting in that category. Take a look through the directory and find a more suitable category to submit your site to, then come back to this thread in a month or more from the date of your resubmission and we'll be happy to give you a status update.

Multiple Sites for Blue & Pink Diamonds
motsa replied to Lawrence_Chard's topic in General Curlie Issues
Well, let's see. You're listed under Coins, you're listed under Jewelry, and you're listed under Blackpool. By your own count, that's 85% of your content represented by your multiple listings. I think you misread my example -- your sites are most like the multiple widget sections of my example, not the Russian composer page. Therefore, like that hypothetical widget site, the site should be listed once in Topical and once in Regional. You've lucked into being listed twice in Topical since there was no easy way to list you only once and still cover both the coin and jewelry content. And you lucked into being listed twice in Regional, since the UK frequently lists sites in national groupings as well as in their locality. I'd personally quit while I was ahead in the deal. -
kokopeli is correct in her interpretation of my previous post -- I wasn't telling you that you couldn't post. Perhaps there is some language confusion here.

@links denote categories that are physically placed in one area but that could function as subcategories of another. It's entirely possible to see @links transcending Top level categories. In this case, the GLB online writing category can serve as a subset of GLB resources (hence appropriate to @link to under Society/Gay,_Lesbian,_and_Bisexual/Arts_and_Entertainment) and also as a specialized subset of Arts/Online_Writing (hence an @link under Arts/Online_Writing would be appropriate).
-
Actually, only one editor expressed that opinion. The other didn't actually talk about your site at all. The other GLB site you mentioned in your first post is no longer duplicated in Arts: Literature: Journals so your original argument for double listing your own site isn't valid. You'll also find that the GLB category is now effectively functioning as a subcategory of Arts/Online_Writing. Therefore, listing your site in both the GLB category and in Arts/Online_Writing would be listing you in child and parent categories, something we don't do. Regardless, you still haven't indicated where you actually submitted your site so no one can give you a status update on it.
