As for the last question, well, there are going to be differences between the two -- it depends on whether or not someone has edited any data imported from the ODP since it was imported. They won't necessarily be (and don't need to be) exactly the same. You may want to post any more detailed questions you have in the internal MusicMoz forums (available only to Musicmoz editors).

If you make the vp3 page redirect to the main page, an editor reviewing your URL update request would be able to tell that the old URL is no longer valid. By keeping the vp3 up and running, it looks as though the URL is still valid.

I don't see your site sitting in the queue of http://dmoz.org/Business/Industrial_Goods_and_Services/Materials/Coatings at all (not even under the alternate URL http://www.vitasalford.com ). Are you sure that was the category you submitted to? And are you sure that's the most fitting category? Coated fabrics (not coatings in general) seems to just be a small part of what you make (in addition to various rubber products and adhesives).

Providing a clickable link to the category in question would help -- there is no such category as the one you noted above. Actually, the category you're sitting in unreviewed in is Celebrities/M/Minogue,_Kylie. The queue there is smallish (under 50 sites).
