Re: Great&WonderfulOz: logged into the twilight zo The same thing happens to me when I stay logged in for several days. I've found that if I delete all cookies from resource-zone.com I can then log in again without killing and restarting the browser.
  3. The site is still awaiting review in that category along with a rather large number of others. If you haven't seen it listed in a few months, feel free to check back here for another update.
  4. Re: Status of http://www.readersrefuge.com.au Still awaiting review in that category.
  5. Still awaiting review in that category, along with several other sites.
  6. Still there, still awaiting review. Editing activity there seems kind of light, so it may take quite a while for someone to get to it. Or it might be reviewed tomorrow, there's no way to tell. Please feel free to check back in a few months if you don't see it listed. Oh, and you're right about the thread slipping under the radar. I for one don't have any problem with bumping a thread when the last post is a relevant question and it's dropped off the first page.
  7. Re: status : http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.c We really can't help you with site design issues. A cost/benefit analysis of browser compatability is way, way outside our scope. I will say that the percentage of Mozilla users seems to be higher among ODP editors than it is in the general population. And no editor will review what they can't see.
  8. Re: status : http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.c Thanks, motsa! It looks like everybody's mistyping that category name. Meanwhile, back at the topic. The site is awaiting review in that category, the url of which I'm not going to try to enter again, along with a moderate number of other submissions. But the shopping cart still doesn't come up with my Mozilla browser. There may be something in there that only works with Microsoft browsers. I'd really want to look into that if I were you. Most people use IE, so you may only lose a few customers, but if the reviewing editor is using a browser that your site doesn't support ...
  9. Re: status : http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.c The site has been listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/R/Roseville/Business_and_Economy/Automotive/ . I was not able to make the shopping cart links work. I imagine if the reviewing editor had the same trouble, that would be why it wasn't listed in the category to which it was submitted.

  11. To get that, go to the Members Lounge forum and post a request in the thread about access to the adult forum.
  12. Mr. Kettle, I have Mr. Pot on line two with a chromatic accusation. > ideally none of which from your own sites Verb that clause!
  13. Re: Creating static HTML from a small portion of R I'm pretty sure the editor names aren't needed. I think that's part of the data, and you can pick and choose which data you want to include. And do remember nobody here works for or represents Netscape. We give opinions, usually well informed ones, but we don't do legal advice.
  14. I just noticed the location of the original poster, and now I understand his motivation. He doesn't want to waste time clicking on links that aren't going to work for him. Agreeing with motsa, I find that a reasonable request.
  15. Don't worry about there being no listed editor. Any editor in a category "above" the one you submitted to can edit there, as can any of the several hundred editors who can edit in the entire directory. Also don't worry about being at the back of the queue. There are fewer than a dozen submissions waiting in that category.
  16. Re: B4 I submit how many cats can i submit this si I see a picture of your headquarters building on the site. If you put your physical address on the site somewhere, you'd be eligible for a Regional listing as well, for a total of two. Please be very specific in choosing the regional category. I'm guessing something like Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Worcestershire/Worcester/Business_and_Economy/Industries/Construction_and_Maintenance/ would be about right, but that's just a guess.
  17. Re: photography site I'm not speaking with any authority here since this is pretty far from the areas where I usually edit, but my opinion is that you wouldn't have to translate or remove the titles of the photographs to qualify for a listing in the English language portion of the directory.
  18. The Open Directory Project does not list sites that are under construction. We describe and categorize by the content we can see, not by the content we're told will be there someday. Submitting a site and hoping to finish it before it's reviewed can be very counterproductive for you. Please build your site first, then submit it. Reversing that order reduces your chance of being listed.
  19. And Google doesn't produce their index in seconds. They produce it in at least days, perhaps weeks. We don't know and they aren't telling, but their spider crawls over my own web site about once a month. It's the searches within that index that the user sees, and those are indeed blazingly fast.
  20. No problem. The ODP evaluates sites on their merits, not on their domains. I can't speak for search engines, and I won't try to.
  21. The bug you reported in the update process has been reported to and acknowledged by our technical people. It's been given the status of "minor bug" I'm afraid, so please don't expect immediate results. It will, I am quite sure, be fixed in due time. The other issue really doesn't belong in this "Bugs and Features" forum, but editor windharp was kind enough to address it anyway. If you have any further questions, I'm sure they will get faster and perhaps better attention in a more appropriate forum. Starting a second thread on the same subject in this forum doesn't really gain you anything, not even with an exclamation point on the end of the thread title.
  22. The problem is that turning off the "add URL" function seems to disable "update URL" as well. I shall post a bug report as soon as I get a chance. Probably tomorrow afternoon. Why "Add a site" is disabled for this category, I don't know. Perhaps it's about to be reorganized, or at least (Oh, please Lord, let it be) renamed. [edit]windharp types faster in a second language than I do in my native tongue.
  23. Yes, that is definitely OK, provided you do the things called for in item 2 of the open directory license at http://dmoz.org/license.html . 1. You need to include the attribution statement at http://dmoz.org/become_an_editor/ . 2. You need to include, with that attribution, a statement that you have made modifications to the data. Please read the entire license and be sure you can agree to its terms before you proceed. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't thing you'll find anything there to trouble you.
  24. Appreciated. Thanks again.
  25. May I have editor title and adult access please? Thank you.
