Did you submit to Business/Business_Services/Design/Industrial_Designers instead of making an update request? If so (and even if you didn't), do make an update request like thehelper advised in the category where you are currently listed. Use the "Update URL" link in the upper right corner of the page. If you submit to the new category instead it is likely to be deleted as a duplicate.

No, your suggested description wasn't commented on - this forum is for telling submitters their site status, not discussing them, and as Jim said your status is "awaiting review".

Skicka inte in länken igen, för då skriver du bara över den första anmälningen! Jag har rensat bort en del spam från de ogranskade länkarna i kategorin, så nästa gång någon redigerar där är det mycket möjligt att han eller hon tittar på din länk. Det låter inget vidare, men det är det bästa jag har att komma med....

That being said, you can go to the category where your site is published and use the "Update URL" link in the top right corner to submit an update request. But bear in mind that if you only want to add a keyword it is very unlikely that the description will be changed.

There are several reasons, but at the heart of them all is the fact that the ODP is manned by volunteers. We don't have to review suggested web sites at all; most of us do, but all of us also find web sites on our own to add to the categories we edit in. (Note that I don't say "our categories" - we may feel particularly strongly about the cats we get to edit in but that doesn't mean we own them or can decide on our own what goes there or not!) The submitted sites are suggestions that carry no greater weight than the sites we find ourselves. There are many sites we wouldn't find without the site suggesting feature, and that's the reason why it is there, but there are also many sites that don't get suggested and it is up to us to find those. Editing from the top down in a list of web sites would soon kill the editing pleasure for most of us. In particular in spam prone areas, I and many other editors start by weeding out the spam and duplicate submissions, then I'll often look for update requests and deal with those, and then review some of the remaining sites. Sometimes I feel like a challenge and tackle the more difficult suggestions, and sometimes I pick those that are easy. It all depends. And sometimes the cat needs to be fed in the middle of a site review and I'll leave the computer and go on with something totally different when I return. That's how I work, and it may not be the same for other editors. Hope it made the editing process a little more clear, in any case.

As soon as the public pages are updated (unfortunately we don't know when this will happen - staff is working on it) you will be able to see it there. In the meantime, it is in the data base, and any downstream data users like Google Directory will get the current data base if they upgrade

När man ansöker om att bli ny redaktör så är en av de viktigaste sakerna att tänka på att inte ansöka om en alltför stor kategori. "Färre än 100 länkar" står det på ansökningsblaketten, men redan 100 länkar är en ganska stor kategori för en ny redaktör. (Observera att jag inte är metaredaktör och alltså inte har något med ansökningar att göra; detta är vad jag tycker mig se på de kategorier som nya redaktörer får.) Vad jag rekommenderar dig att göra är att hitta en underkategori som inte har någon redaktör listad och ansöka om den. Om du blir antagen så kan du så småningom ansöka om fler kategorier. Att du har en egen webbplats som väntar på att bli granskad ska inte påverka dina chanser, så länge du talar om det i din ansökan. Lycka till! -nea

There are no rules stating that editors must, or should, review sites in any order. The "Sort by date" setting can be set to default, but it is always possible to re-sort in other ways. There are a couple of good descriptions of how two different editors work at the end of this thread, giving some of the reasons why editors don't work their way through the list of submitted URLs by the date they were submitted. And as far as hints for getting listed goes, there is only one way: submit your URL to the best category and then wait. Once your site has been submitted, it will be reviewed sooner or later. But we can't give any kind of estimate as to when that will be.

It is frustrating to wait, and I know it won't make you any happier if I tell you that there are many, many unreviewed sites that have been waiting much longer than 7 months. But the process must take the time it takes; as several editors have said already, once your site is in the queue (which it is) it will be reviewed at some point, and whether that is in a week, a month or a year is impossible to say. If you know of sites in the directory that are no longer working or have changed their content, we'd appreciate it a lot if you could report them in this thread so we can deal with them. (They will be dealt with anyway, sooner or later, but if we are made aware of them it will be "sooner" <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> )
