I also agree that noone was trying to be rude or annoying. ODP is above board and honest editors attempting to build the directory. Unfortunately, some "ne'er do wells" do get by the checks and balance system and are most always found and removed as editors. If you find or suspect abuse, please by all means, report it. We don't like it either and with help, they can be found and properly taken care of faster. The same goes for webmasters and site owners. Most of them are honest and just want a listing. I do however as an editor, have to question and scrutinize websites that gives an business address in one state with a phone number from another state.

Suggestion to the Business category has been rejected because Shopping is definitely the main focus of the site. The URL has been changed to http://shop.store.yahoo.com/numberonevirtualbargainworld since that is where it is redirected. Is still waiting in Shopping/Clothing/Undergarments/Lingerie/Exotic along with about the same amount of others. I'm afraid the category isn't very actively edited. Suggest checking back in 2-3 months with fingers crossed.

Patiently waiting with under 50 others. Due to the inactivity of this category, I'm afraid it will still take a while.

Submission of 17 March is still waiting along with over 250 others. Because of lack of editors and the large queue, I'm afraid that it's going to take quite a while. Please check back in 2-3 months?

On applying for the cat. That's between you and an approving meta. If you believe you have enough edits and the ability to handle it properly, go for it! If not, it wouldn't hurt to get more edits under your belt. Disclaimer: I have not looked at which cat/cats you currently edit or the number of your edits.

Editors should find new listings by searching engines, phone books, billboards, newspapers, and any other means to find possible listings if editing time allows it. ODP's search feature has been "rolled back" while the upgrade is ongoing. Sites may very well be listed and not showing as so. >>>This specific category already has an editor. How does this work?<<< Because a category has an editor listed usually doesn't affect an application for a new editor, or show the level of activity of a current editor. My only suggestion about applying is the "make sure you read_and_understand the guidelines" , especially the section concerning Titles and Descriptions. Looking at the title and description for the one you submitted, it is "my" opinion that it definitely needs to be revamped to comply with the guidelines. Lose the hype, advertising, and only the "proper title" should be in the Title box. Good Luck!

You site is still waiting with about the same number of unrevieweds. The good news is that the category was recently edited. Please ask again in a month or so if you don't see it listed.

Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's not! If you are honest on the application by having altruistic motives, listing any affiliations you have with sites, and show you can edit alongside many editors from around the world. The person reviewing your application will be more at ease. Although I'm not a meta editor, I would guess that attempting to hide your true motives for applying will be found out. In short, if you work and play nicely with others, and show a willingness and potential to edit objectively, you'll have a better chance.
