No change, sorry.
-
We are well and truly ribbed for your pleasure. Thank you.
-
Thanks for bumping the thread to the top - the forums are quite busy of late and sometimes we miss requests - sorry about that. This category is extremely backlogged - are you sure that one of the subcategories doesn't fit your site well? A submission to that category with the date you mention still awaits editorial review in that category.
-
No change, I'm afraid. It still awaits review.
-
Reviewing editors have declined to list the site, since it is of a type that we do not consider listable according to the ODP guidelines. Sorry.
-
Yes, definitely. Please use this thread and you are welcome to come back at intervals greater than one month from the date of the last status request. Thanks
-
No change, I'm afraid.
-
A submission of that date is awaiting editorial review in that category. Thanks.

You have just changed your question. It is possible for a company to have a listing in a Regional category, if the company has a regional interest, and then additionally in a so-called "Topical" (i.e. non-Regional) and then, for every language that the site is written in which is not English, an entry in a category in the "World" tree. Each of these should be for the same URL, though. For every guideline in the ODP there are exceptions, some more exceptional than others. Looking for hard-and-fast regulations would be a futile activity, in my opinion.

No change, I'm afriad - the submission still awaits review.

Nowhere on this forum, I'm afraid. I would suggest that you look at forums devoted to Web Masters. A good starting point for this would be sites mentioned in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Chats_and_Forums/ Hope this helps.

An update request is pending editor review in that category. I should warn you though that the description you requested is far from being guideline-compliant for the ODP and will not get accepted - trying to repeat the keywords "custom chocolate" many times just plain won't happen. I can't comment on the rest of the update - it will need to wait for an editor more familiar with the subject. Thanks.
-
OK - here's something you can do - CALM DOWN. You are right - that corner of the directory does not get a lot of interest and, since we are a volunteer organisation, we rely on interest of editors to review sites. If it is so important to you to be listed, I would suggest you look at other means of promotion, because a time-to-review here is definitely not something we can predict.

Still no change, I'm afraid.
-
Corrine - apologies for that - sometimes we just look at the day and the month Your suggestion of 03/Dec/2002 still awaits review in the category you name, but you are listed in category http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maryland/Localities/O/Olney/Business_and_Economy This category, as I'm sure you can imagine, is extremely backlogged with suggestions - your site is by far not the oldest.

Re: http://www.doggtagz.com/ There has been no change in the status of your site, I'm afraid - it still awaits reveiw.

Re: URL and cat. Change Any update request goes into the unreviewed area, along with new submissions, so the "official" answer is that there is no way of knowing. HOWEVER, I, and many other editors, tend to give Update requests priority over new submissions, because it affects the quality of the already-listed sites. I deal with update requests before unreviewed. And yes, while the public side is dicsonnected from the editing side, no changes will be viewable.

Re: www.walkingjersey.com A submission dated 07/Mar/2003 is awaiting review in that category along with well over 100 other sites. Given that list, I would imagine that it will take quite some time to be reviewed. However, were you aware that the site is already listed in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Jersey/Travel_and_Tourism ?

Alucard replied to a topic in Site Submission Status
Re: home-based-business-opportunities-guide.com If you substantially change your site and believe that, according to the ODP guidelines, your site might be worthy of another review, then please resubmit, and put a note in the description that the site has been redesigned and that you would appreaciate a new review. Thanks. -
No change from the last status, I'm afraid.
-
It appears that an editor tried to review the site on 2-Jun of this year, but once again it was down, so that submission was deleted. We can't list sites which we can't review, I'm afraid. If it's causing us problems, I would bet it will affect your potential customers, and since you appear to be selling web hosting... I think I'll leave it at that.... Please resubmit when you have the issue resolved. Thanks.
-
Your last request for a status on here was less than a month ago. Please wait at least this long. Thanks.

Re: Status of http://www.asmarteru.com/ So what's the deal? It's been almost 9 months and I'm still waiting. The "deal" is that it is taking that long to get sites reviewed in that part of the directory. Do I need to bring this up to somebody? No, you don't "need" to. Your site will not get listed any quicker by sending messages to people. As you may have read if you've looked elesewhere on this forum, all editors are unpaid volunteers, and sites are reviewed in whatever order an editor wishes to review them. Should I request a different cat? This will not expedite the site getting listed. If the site was submitted to the best-fitting category for it, then that is the way to get the listing approved in the shortest time. I know things take time ... but it shouldn't take more time to get listed in here then it does to create life! Just my 2 cents. Your opinion is noted. In the ideal world we would have enough editors that we could deal with all unreviewed sites and have the time to add whatever sites we find to the directory. In the real world we don't, so yes, it takes a long while to get sites reviewed in some areas of the directory. And in the interests of effective communication, your post comes across as rather inflammatory. While I can understand that you are frustrated at not getting your site listed, there are many others in the same boat, and many editors feeling like they are trying to scale Mount Everest. We are all doing the best job we can.

Re: Status of www.chemicon.com No change, I'm sorry to say - the category is one of those which is quite backlogged.
