1. Re: Status: http://www.MonotStreet.com/ No change, I'm afraid.
2. Sorry, but still no change.
3. No change, I'm afraid - awaiting review along with around 150 other sites.
4. No change on the status. and yes, someone will review it. Thanks for your enquiry.
5. Re: http://www.cybervox.net It was strongly suggested that you wait several months before coming back to check, since the category is fairly inactive. One calendar month minus a day isn't anywhere near long enough. Thanks.
6. To see that your site listed in the directory please follow the link to http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Pennsylvania/Localities/M/Mount_Pocono/Business_and_Economy/ and you will see it. Thanks.
7. Can you tell me if anyone has gone in to look at it? We have no way of knowing that, so sorry, that's not information we have. Would it be a unwise to find an appropriate category with an active editor? Yes it would, for reasons which were explained to you by dfy earlier in this thread.
8. Due to our ongoing server upgrade, changes made by editors are not being reflected in the publicly-available pages. Never fear, it will appear
9. Re: home-based-business-opportunities-guide.com I would leave it at least two or three.
10. Re: home-based-business-opportunities-guide.com Mohamed I'm sorry to say that there is no change - the site is still there, awaiting review.
11. The site was reviewed by an editor and rejected due to lack of original and/or quality content. Sites which replicate content from other readily-available online sources are not eligible for listing in the ODP.
12. Still no change, I'm afraid.
13. No change from the last request - sorry.
14. To answer your specific questions: Is there anything I can do to facilitate getting my site listed in DMOZ? No there is not. All submitted sites are equal, in the eyes of the editors, and get processed in whatever order the editor wishes. If there is no editor for the cartegory can I get listed in the next higher category that has an editor? No. There are several reasons why this isn't a good idea: First, if the category above the one has an editor, then they can also edit that sub-category, so that doesn't help you. Second, the site will get listed in the ONE category where it belongs, which means it won't get listed in the level above it. Third, if you submit to the level above it, then it will probably get moved down to the original subcategory anyway, and may actually end up delaying the time-to-list. I'm sure these aren't the answers that you were hoping to hear, but this is the way that the ODP works, for good reason. Thanks for your enquiry.
15. No, around the same number of sites as before. Your site is still in there. The site does actually already have a listing in the ODP, in the category http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Arkansas/Localities/G/Green_Forest/Arts_and_Entertainment it appears as though it got listed there in 12-May-2003 This does not preclude you from being listed in the category you asked about here - the editor deemed you to have a regional presence, and so you were listed in that other category too.
16. No change on the status, I'm afraid.
17. I'm sorry to say that there has been no change.
18. Re: Status of http://www.readersrefuge.com.au Renee. I'm sorry to say that there has been no change in the status.
19. No change as to the status, I'm afraid. It awaits review, along with less than 10 other sites. As it seems like this category is not very active, I would recommend that you leave it two months before asking again. Sorry the news isn't any better.
20. The site has been listed in http://dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Retirement_Planning since 12-May. Thanks for your enquiry
21. Each category has it's own area for unreviewed sites. It's not really a formal "queue" because they can be sorted in whatever order the ditor wants to see them.
22. Re: status http://www.wi-fitechnology.com/ Someone will, have no fear. It's just that there are tens of thousands of others sitting there for similar processing - we get a *lot* of spam submissions. Sorting through them is almost a full-time job for several editors.
23. There has been very little editing activity in that category for a while. The URL is still awaiting review. Sorry the news isn't any better.
24. There is no change, I'm afraid.
25. I'm sorry you are getting annoyed - I can understand the frustration. There are many *many* sites awaiting review, and the *volunteer* editors are doing all they can to work on them all. I'm sure you have seen elsewhere on this forum that we have been having server problems for a long while now, and this has made the job of working with the directory annoying to say the least. So the general frustration level is higher, no doubt. We just hope that the work currently being undertaken will help the issues with the servers, so that the editors who haven't given up can come back and start reviewing sites in a more productive manner. That having been said, the popularity of the ODP means that we have more submissions than the editors can deal with - and that means we have backlogs. Our constant pleas for more *good* editors are an attempt to improve the situation. Short of that there is nothing we can do.
