The 301 redirect thing just means that are dead link crawler will pick it up so that the change gets higher priority. It will also allow Google to remove the old site from its index. Basically, it's not required, but it's nice to do if you can and are willing to do so.

It shouldn't affect your existing submission, no. By the way, I got the category wrong. You are waiting in Shopping/Pets/Themed_Merchandise with a somewhat smaller number of sites . I've deleted around 100 duplicate sites from that area today so hopefully it might help you a bit.

You're still waiting in Shopping/Pets with just over 350 others. Does you site have a local presence in LA? If so, you may be able to get an additional listing in the Metairie category. As for becoming an editor, that category is much too big - we normally only accept editors in categories with 100 sites or less, and tend to avoid accepting newbies in spam-prone areas which Shopping can be at times.

Re: Status: http://www.1cog.com (domain change) The Bristol entry is still fixed on the back end, but not on the front end, which reverted to a snapshot from a few weeks ago. It will be fixed in due course and no action is required on your part. I can't tell you when because I don't know, and I don't think staff really know either. From what I gather, it is possible that you can have 3 listings in this case, so you may merely submit to the Full Service/1 category rather than ask for the site to be moved.
