I am not a meta editor so I don't review new editor applications but the part of the form letter I would pay most attention to is the Reviewers Comments section. -Descriptions and titles are not respecting our guidelines. -Sites submitted must not be already listed in the directory and have to comply to the guidelines. That means what it says. A new editors application needs to be according to the guidelines. Titles and descriptions have to be according to the guidelines. If the application asks for sites that are not already listed in the directory than you are supposed to give sites that are not already listed. If you put a site that was already listed than you are not following the directions. I would like to see you get accepted as editor but I do not want to see the metas lower the acceptance standards for anyone. When you are applying to edit in dmoz it is like applying for a job - you should treat the application like a job application. Good Luck!

I don't see your email address in your profile.

If you are accepted as an editor I will be more than happy to lend you a hand. I am "The Helper" you know - LOL!

I think you and all the other Gambling webmasters that are having problems should apply to be editors. You know it is the OPEN Directory Project. Anyone is free to become an editor. We do our best to try and review the Gambling site (for free I might add) but most of us are not in the industry. I have to add something here, Gambling is not a very popular category to edit in the Games branch. Most of the Games editors would rather edit somewhere else than in Gambling. The answer I think is for the Gambling industry to become involved. You guys know what the good and bad sites are - and it is alot easier for other higher level editors to keep an eye on you guys from the top rather than getting into the trenches and dealing with all the spam and affiliates as would have to be the case now if any of the hundreds of sites waiting to be reviewed are going to be processed. I would rather take care of WarCraft III or Browser Based Collections - to be completly honest - and that is pretty much what I have been doing. Gambling is about the last item on my list of things to do - but that is just me... or is it <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

If your site content for both English and Italian speaking audiences you can be listed in both the English and Italian sections of the directory. If you feel your Italian listing is not in the correct category you can submit an update url request and put in the note the category that you think is better suited for your site. Hope this helps -

I think the problem here is being a partner site of bingoworkz. This can cause lots of confusion. Maybe you could clarify what being a partner of bingoworkz entails and how it is different than an affiliate site. The impression i get is that all the partner sites are just front ends for bingoworkz back end - and since the engine is the same the playing Bingo aspect is not unique content. How am I wrong here?

If the activity is illegal report it to the authorities. If it is truly illegal the authorities should be able to handle it. We are not the web police.

You should not keep resubmitting. Every time you do that it resets the date of the original submission. Your first submission could have been a year ago but the one that is still waiting will show submitted the last time you did it. The procedure is submit to the best category, wait a month, and if you are still not listed ask for a status check in the submission status forum. Hope this helps -

Your site was the only one waiting in the queue so I did the review since it had already been waiting over a month. You are now listed in http://dmoz.org/Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Denominations/Catholicism/People/Teens/ Have a great day!

Please post a link to the category you submitted to. Doing that will help us greatly in processing your submission status request. Thanks.

Your site is currently waiting to be reviewed in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Human_Resources/ The category has a big backlog so it might take a while. If you see a subcategory off of Human Resources that you think your site may fit in consider submitting there as the subcategories are not backed up as much. Unfortunately I have no time estimate for you except to say it could be a while. Hope this helps -

When your site is finished and ready to go resubmit. Your current submission was rejected for lack of content. This rejection should not prevent you from getting a fair review when you decide to submit again. Hope this helps -

Oh my, I guess you can tell I did not do much clicking around /images/icons/smile.gif Hutcheson is absolutely correct.

Its not directly linked so I don't see the problem here. The tracker could have been moved over as a temporary solution. I used my free trackers like that also.

You should apply to be the editor of that category. There is a possibility it could take a while. I edit in Houston and I know the metro areas are suffering without editors. Good news is we had Texas down to zero unreviewed earlier this year. The bad news is that lasted about a day /images/icons/smile.gif

It works for me now.

Your site has been listed since the 20th in the following category http://dmoz.org/Society/Support_Groups/Sexual_Abuse/Survivors/ Hope this helps -

The site is waiting and there is no backlog in that category. I noticed you just submitted yesterday, I would give it at least one month and if you are still not listed follow up on this thread. BTW, if I enter hemsell.com I get a page not found error. Your full url works so I modified your submission to the full url. Good Luck and hope this helps -

"If you are an editor, you would know whether it has been reviewed." That is not exactly true. I mean, it is easy to find out as an editor, but that does not mean that 2 and 2 were put together /images/icons/smile.gif

Are you sure you submitted to that category? There is no record of your site ever being touched in dmoz.org and it is not currently in the unreviewed queue of that category. There is no backlog in that category and it appears to have an editor. I suggest you resubmit. BTW - your site will not load on my browser - I don't know if it is a problem on my end but you want to make sure your site is working and fully functional before you submit it to the directory. Hope this helps -

I don't know anything about a target but I think you would have better luck if you submitted the site to http://dmoz.org/Business/Industries/Arts_and_Entertainment/Photography/Stock/Companies/North_America/ as it is a more specific category and more importantly for you, has a much smaller amount of unreviewed. Hope this helps -
-
The category has a significant backlog and your site is still waiting for review. I can give no estimate on the amount of time it will take to get reviewed except to say that it might be a while.

Try submitting to the Lincolnshire, IL. Regional category.

Are you sure you submitted to that category? There is no record of your submission and and your site is not waiting to be reviewed. There is currently no backlog in that category - I would resubmit.

No one has looked at my category since March 11th?
