Re: submission status req: botox-cosmetic-surgery. No submission of yours waiting there, too. Two possible reasons: 1) You submitted somewhere else 2) You received an error message while submitting.

Wir machen uns wesentlioch mehr Gedanken über unsere Verzeichnisstruktur. 2. gibt es in der allgemeinen Inkasso-Kategorie einen @Link "Schweiz", also eine virtuelle Unterkategorie dieses Namens. Offensichtlich werden Unternehmen in derSchweiz also in einer gesonderten Kategorie aufgenommen :-)

Its unlikely that you hear anything. Writing mails to submitters exceeds the timeframe of most editors. And we dont see our job as "work on webmasters submissions" but to "work on ODP categories for the user who searches things", so an automated response is not a most wanted feature. Since you are an editor (according to the link you provide, which is only visible after login) you can check the logs yourself and see if something happened to the site. Just open the edit window for the entry that you already added to your bookmarks and look at the bottom for the logentries to that URL.

*Sigh* Is the part about the "provide a clickable link" so hard to read? Something like http://dmoz.org/Business/Employment/Recruitment_and_Staffing/Recruiters/ would have been great... Anyway: Site is waiting in a rather large queue. Most of the other links that are waiting are older than yours.

Sorry, but: No, not really. Lots of "Shopping" categories are quite crowded with submissions and spam. Additional finding good, experienced editors (who like to work on hundreds od submissions) for them is very hard.

That category has a rather large backlog, your site is waiting patiently with all the others. Most are waiting longer than yours, so it might take a while.

Its waiting in a rather small queue, so I guess any editor jumping in to clear the unreviewed there (whenever this might be) would process the entry.

That category is terribly crowded with submissions, large percentage spam. Your submission is waiting, but I would not expect it to be listed very soon...

You are right, there are lots of waiting sites. Its a difficult area, where tons of spam are submitted. So your submision is waiting with a lot of others for an editor to review it. "chainsaw" is just a mode of listing lots of unreviewed entries on one screen, originally designed to sort out spam, thats where the name comes from. Nowadays it just means that an editor who prefers that form for editing was around, it is more convenient for some tasks than the "normal" view.

As totalxsive said, the queue is quite large. There hasn't been a significant change in the last month, sorry to say that. (Btw for all other readers, its waiting in the first category mentioned up in the first posting)

Hmmm... Your submission dates 06/Feb/2003 - keep in mind that every resubmission overwrites any old one that is waiting. It's waiting there in a medium sized queue.

Sorry, but we are unable to give any guesses on site submission dates. The ODP ois fully worked by volunteers and no limits to the amount of editing exist. Can be up from some minutes to a year or more. What I can tell you is, that there are only a few sites waiting to be reviewed (including yours). Keep in mind that every resubmission to the category overwrites any old one so the submission date currently states it was submitted in january.

Grundsätzlich nehmen wir Anfragen im Forum nicht als Anlass Einträge zu bearbeiten. Dies geschieht aus einem ganz einfachen Grund: Wenn wir das täten, und auch nur ein kleiner Teil der x * 100.000 Submitter deren Anmeldung noch unbearbeitet ist kriegt das mit, kann dieses Forum eingestellt werden. "not an issue" is not totally right. If a site is only working on IE6+ and on nothing else, I for myself would simply have a problem reviewing it. And to be honest I would think that someone who does not want users to come to his site does not want me to review it either. And please keep in mind, that there are other systems than PC/Windows out there. Quite a lot of editors use "non-standard" systems as macintosh, unix-systems, WebTV or something like that. Even if we just add a note like "not working with xyz" and leave it in unreviewed, this may add months or even years to the time till the site is reviewed.

We cant promise any timeframe. Editors are working as volunteers only, with no limitation regarding the number of edits they do. The queue is rather large, so I would not expect to be listed very soon.
