Has not yet been touched by an editor. Whithout knowing the category we cant see anything else. (As stated in the Forum guidelines)
-
I dont know the status, since I am no metaeditor. But I dont think, this application will be accepted, the category is rather large (more than 400 entries). Normally you should go for a small category as your starting place and request larger ones later on, when you have some experience. See the FAQ for more details.

The search is database-driven, the database is rebuilt every week. Due to some technical problems in the past, this may be skipped for maintenance reasons sometimes.

Update computers.douglasthrift.net/searchengine/

Was already processed short before you asked. Please give the editors enough time to actually have a chance to process the submissions before you ask. Would save us a lot of work... -
Re: Link setzen http://www.dmoz.org/World/Deutsch Danke, Korrektur ist eingegeben.

Please reuse old threads - this one was last discussed in this thread

But thats just what every linklist usually does, so why is it wrong!?! Example: If I put a page with "my favourite links" on my homepage, I choose which ones I want to publish. If my page is growing bigger, I may ask others for help with maintaining my page (lets call them "editors" to stay in the context). To tell those editors what I want them to do, I release some kind of "guidelines". No democracy but only me making decisions. In the ODP its more democratic: Lots of editors contribute their ideas, and the ideas which get the majority are put into the guidelines. Its in the nature of this system that those guidelines change according to the froup of editors currently present. I am with the ODP for quite a short time compared to some other editors, but can remember several discussions which dramatically changed the rules. But - sorry to say for you - they never changed in the "lets list a type of sites which was excluded before" direction. Due to heavy submission-load and extremely growing categories, the editors normally decide to push the quality of the directory, not the quantity. And quality necessarily means selection of the listed sites.

Normally new submissions of the same URL simply overwrite the waiting ones.
-
Your submission is waiting with a lot of others. Seems this category attracts a lot of submittors... Lots of submissions are older than yours. Please wait AT LEAST a month before asking for status. Thanks.

Several reasons: 1) If he edits letter "A" in one branch, it is quite usefull if he edits letter "A" in the other branches, too. Otherwise he would move entries which he believes are submitted to the wrong category to the right place without being able to puiblish them. 2) Would it be more understandable to you if he was listed in Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Designers ? That would reduce the number of entries and enable him to edit all subcategories <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> 3) And for the other topics he edits in: You need something to relax from editing in categories wiuth a lot of spam and bad submissions. Some time ago I requested a Humour-category additional to the ones I edited back then, giving as a reason that I need something to relax from my current projects. 4) If you want to know why he edits in exactly the places he does: He volunteered to do so. So you ould have to ask himself. (And of course there are _never_ enough editors in the ODP...)

The ODP simply looks for content. More about what to list and what not to list in the section Include and the next sexction in our guidelines.

It would have been be a lot easier if you followed posting rules, which say: "In the body of your post, include a clickable link to the category you submitted to. The simplest way to do this is to copy and paste the category you submitted to (i.e. http://dmoz.org/....)."
-
Your submission is waiting in a huge pile of others to be reviewed. Bad thing: COuld take some time. Good thing: No need to resubmit, it has arrived and is now waiting patiently :-)

Re: Site Submission Status The ODP is based on voluntary work, so no timeframe can be named. Editing time depends on the number and activity of the ODP-editors. -
Rejected and not likely to be listed anywhere. For more details see the apropriate section in the ODP guidelines: http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html#notinclude
-
-
Please see this thread for details.

Site was rejected for not complying with the needs for a site described in the first paragraph of the category descrption which is based upon our Guidelines - section Sites not to include. [Edit: This time someone bet me to it. Leaving this post for the links it contains]
-
Quite a FAQ: Search is based on a socalled RDF-dump which is normally generated once a week, due to technical problems the next run will be delayed for an unknown time.
-
Rejected and not likely to be listed in ODP. See the Guidelines section about sites not to include for more details.

It looks like two of your update requests where actually processed, last one in january. I have to say the old description matched our guidelines much better than the new one does...
