Yes, you have suggested your site multiple times.

We will not punish you for doing so, but please do not suggest the site again.

A wait of one year is not exceptionally long. We do nto make any time committments as to when we will look at a given site suggestion.

We don't send any e-mails, so it wold be fruitless to wait for one.

fruitless maybe, but wondering whats really going on with the fruitless editors taking so long to push a button called approve. Some people here been waiting months then years to get approved.

I mean really, few post above was clear you saw our url submit. Couldn't you approve it right then?

There are only about 7000 editors active at any given point, but only about 200 of them would have the ability to edit in any given category -- and most of those have editing privileges in the entire directory. Given that all of those editors only edit where they choose to edit, you can well imagine why it might take a long time for a site suggested to any specific category to be reviewed.

Possibly, but posting here doesn't expedite matters; editors don't edit based on posts here. When an editor decides to look at the pool of suggested sites in the category where you suggested your site, I'm sure they'll look at yours, too.

also there is a lot more to editing than just pushing a button, just as there is more to driving an automobile than pressing down on the gas pedal.

We get a lot of suggestions every day, but there is much, much more to editing than just reviewing suggestions.

Many categories get so many garbage suggestions that it is not worth the time and effort of wading through them.

Many categories rarely get suggesitons -- but are worth developing.

A lot of time is spent developing and refining the taxonomy -- technologies and industries change, stuff happens locally and internationally, etc.

We also work hard to try and maintain the quality of existing links (we even have a forum thread dedicated to just that purpose). Link rot is a reality, so are hijacked sites, and sites where the content has radically changed. I also think that about 10% of all real estate agents change agencies each day. :D

Other editors help develop tools so that those of us who are programming challenged can be more effective during our volunteer time.

Plus, there are days and weeks (sometimes months and occasionally years) when one just does not feel like editing -- so one does not edit.

Still, we continue to grow the directory - which is our overall goal.

Yes, lots of them :).

As you've already been told, we won't discuss specific websites here. Neither do we work to the 'he who shouts loudest gets served first' principle.

No I understand, just giving a little push to the lazy people.

** I don't care who you are, does't take 1-2 years of waiting to get a site approved.

If none of the lazy volunteers are interested in processing your website, it could take even longer than that. Fortunately, they don't know its URL so your motivational words are unlikely to have any effect - positive or negative.

Further conversation on this particular topic seems pointless. Closing. Please don't start a similar thread.
