I read and followed the instructions on dmoz but in 3+ years and still not accepted its time to give up. Is there any other good high pr directories to list on?

Hi Jim and all

Hi Jim or anyone else with a few answers...

I have 3 sites that I am very passionate about and wonder why in almost 3 years too I cannot get them in the dmoz directory. I have tried to submit them more than once after it was clear after a year that my submission has failed. I see many more sites that are worse than my sites (which I think are good and I have heavily invested in time in).

Is there something I am missing. Have I inadvertently dropped my url's in a spam database never to be listed ? This is my fear. It is a shame. I struggle to keep my free sites going but I will continue to try.

What happens if you submit a site more than once ?

Thanks for replies I really would like to know what the problem is after 3 years. I wont list the domains for fear of even worse penalisation.

Thanks for that because doing so would be to ignore this forum's ToS :).

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.
