A new website

I have a website about wrought iron .we are factory and specilized in wrought iron garden products in China.I Submit our company webiste in this category:

Hope that our company website can be reviewed by editor at their spair time.

Thanks for letting us know. Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

But I can not find my website listed in this category.Maybe I list wrong category. If yes . Would you like to tell me what category is suit for my website.I search wrought iron in dmoz searh.and find my webiste should be wrought iron products.

'Last update: 1:45 PT, Thursday, August 5, 2010' doesn't mean that all websites pending review there were processed; it means that some editor or robot performed at least one editing action there.

We don't provide status reports here - as the sticky at the top of the forum says. We don't discuss specific websites either.

Now I know why some websites can not be list in the DMOZ and why my website can not be list at DMOZ. Althought you suggest a website at Dmoz.But Editor can not see your websites in admin panel,there is not any records about your website in admin panel. Why I say this,Just a editor told me about this. Your website should be suggested by one of editors if you want to make your website list at dmoz sucessly.

Now you should be clear that why your website need to wait for 9 years or 10 years .

Dmoz will be better if they want to make everyone believe them.

I'm sorry, but that makes no sense - there is no "admin panel" in dmoz.org. All editors who have editing rights in a category can see all sites that have been suggested to that category.

You don't need to contact an editor to get your site suggested for review. You can suggest it yourself; thousands of sites that are suggested by people outside the directory are listed every week. There is no need to contact an editor directly.

You must have misunderstood the editor you spoke to.

I do not know what your website is but the reason will be the same as why other websites can not be listed. It always comes down to "Lack of unique content".

We don't provide status checks. It says so in the Discontinuation of site status checks announcement right at the top of this forum .

Others ARE seeing the same thing. For instance, literally _millions_ of unlistable sites have been suggested. Every single one of their owners can say, "I suggested my site and it's not listed.

Also, tens of thousands (at least) of listable sites have been suggested, but haven't been reviewed yet. All of THEIR owners can say the same thing.

Of course, editors can't tell the difference between the valid suggestions and the spam, except by reviewing the site. So there's not really anything we CAN tell people.

Once the site is reviewed, if it's listable, we tell EVERYONE about it. But if it's not listable ... we don't tell anyone. After all, nobody CARES except the spammer, and nobody wants to help them!

So, between, "we don't know anything to tell" and "we've already told all we know" and "we would tell you, but we'd have to kill you for being a spammer first"--there really isn't anything else to tell.

personally i think the ODP does a good job in terms of their system for site inclusions into the directory. what would the ODP be worth if they let any and all websites into it. the odp probably received 10,000s a submission per day. your website would need to be better than them to get included. take a look at the websites in the ODP and they are all quality sites. the purpose for the ODP is not for commercial websites to benefit. it is a collection of high quality websites online.
