I filed an abuse report on someone who stole my entire web site word for word, same design, graphics, etc. They are also located in the same city as me. The next day I checked the status of id# a36ad3a6930660ccc23acb30e11f28f3 and it is saying it has been resolved.

The stolen web site is still listed in the dmoz directory (the same city and directory mine is listed in) I have all kinds of proof to back up my claim but no one asked for it. Yahoo has already yanked them from their search engine and Google is currently doing an investigation.

Why are they still listed in the dmoz directory? I don't know where to turn anymore. I feel like the people who stole my web site are being allowed to get away with it.

Please shed some light on this.

Thanks.

You did look at the category and not at the search results (which are quite outdated at the moment as the date at the bottom could have told you), did you?

I guess you didn't.

Anyway, copyright issues are not our problem as long as the site looks like a legitimate site with some kind of unique content. And having a business with an address and so on is a kind of unique content. So it may happen that the site is relisted soon.

It is not as uncommon an occurance as some might think. I suggest you contact the party with the offending website directly, or through your lawyer. Failing results there, contact their hosting provider.

I already contacted the site owners themselves. They know they are in the wrong and did remove my logo but they kept all the same wording. I also did contact their ISP (they have been stalling for 3 weeks now), each time I email them, they ask for more proof and it sounds like they really don't care that they copied my site word for word.
