This site was submitted and accepted (listed} almost one year ago - we can not find it now.


Shopping/Consumer_Electronics/Communications/Wireless/

We submitted under the cellphone accessories catagory - because it is basically an e-commerce accessories site.

It has expanded over the last several months to include audio electonics.

Thank You for your help over the past few months on other sites

We cannot get into dmoz right now, thus we cannot check exactly what happened.

Looking at your site, I see that all links redirect either to http://www.streo2000.com/ or http://www.cellphoneaccessoriesexpert.com/ . As such, this site shouldn't have been listed, and if it has not been removed in the meanwhile (which I think is the case) it will be removed as soon as we can get into dmoz editing side.

the site has definitely been removed because of the lack of hits. and we check the GOOGLE directory after the dmoz went down.

the site - since it's acceptance - has expanded to include audio equipment and is encompassing an additional division and shopping cart- thus the links to steo,


We would appreciate a new placement of the site in a more expanded catagory rather than completely removing it.

also, the accessories-cellphones domain is going to emcompass the direction the site is going

I thought ettore's remarks were clear enough, but apparently they were misunderstood. I'll try.

It is a "doorway site" -- that is, it does not contain any retail shopping information, it just contains links to two other sites that actually sell the product. The editors' guidelines say that such sites must not be listed.

The site was added by mistake. We must apologize to our users for that kind of mistake; and we remove editors who keep making that kind of mistake.

The site was removed, appropriately, in a successful attempt to improve the quality of the results that we provide users.

Expect it not to be added back, ever.

Now that dmoz.org editing side works again, we can be more specific. As hutcheson said, http://accessories-cellphones.com/ has been removed and will not be added again to the directory.

Instead, http://www.cellphoneaccessoriesexpert.com/ has been listed in the Cellular_Phones/Accessories/U/ category.

The other URL http://www.streo2000.com/ , whereas being the target of some links present in http://accessories-cellphones.com/ , returns a 404 as as such we can't comment on it.

We had initially looked at the link that you had given before contacting you:

was what we found with a - Nov 2 2002 update.


So, that the editor is not wrongfully accused of a mistake,
please allow us to take the blame.

When the site was initially accepted it was
with no redirects.


Because of:

troubles with the e-commerce host
and
new additions to the site -
this was a reaction to an urgent situation that caused what seems like the doorway page.

In the future the site will be as one - however, this approach was the only immediate thing that could be done.

Yep, the database lost several of my posts, including those in this thread ...

In any case, reiterating what motsa said and what I already said in my previous (now disappeared) posts, this site won't be listed.
