if a site is already listed on the directory and suggested again to another category, will it take again for 6 months before the site will be added to its new category?

Without a lot more detail such as its URL, we can't even know if it's eligible for a second listing. We certainly have no idea when it might listed.

The only place where a period of 6 month is applicable is between status request here at R-Z. And this has totaly no relation with the review proces at DMOZ.
If a site is already listed at DMOZ it normaly should not be suggested again. Exception is a site that is available in several languages. Such a site can be suggested to all these languages.

category has been recommended by an editor. based on what i have read in this forum, there is no limitation of categories for a site to be listed..

Then you also should have noticed that a site should only be suggested only once by its owner and that an editor can decide to list it in more than one category.
To make things easier give us a link for your site, the category it is listed in now and the category you want to suggest it to. Without these it only is a theoretical exercise. And theory is `suggest the site only once`

site has been submitted again to a new category since it was recommended by an editor...normally, 6 months is for status request but then site has been listed and basically, how long will does it take to appear on the new added category?

thank you for the insights.

We still don't know.

Multiple listings are at ODP's option, not the site owner's.

Tell us the URL and category and I can set your mind at rest right now.

Please read the forum guidelines and FAQ.
1) you may ask for status 1 month after you last suggested the site
2) you must wait a minimum of 6 months between status requests
3) no posting made at R-Z will influence the review proces
4) we can not predict when a site will be reviewed

It always makes editors suspicious when people evade direct questions, and conceal the information that is obviously required to give a good answer.

Without more information, the answer is always going to be "The Book of Submittal Procedures" -- one submittal per site.

If some other editor had more information and gave a different answer, ... you can go with it. But no editor can give you or your owner a guarantee: the editor who reviews the site may think differently; the community may reach a consensus that overrides both of them. The only thing you can HONESTLY tell the owner is that you will suggest the site, but there is no predicting if or when another listing will be added.

Telling the truth up front may save him getting angry with you later -- as other visitors here could confirm from experience.
