Already an editor - help

I applied to edit on May 9, 2014. I verified my email address, and then I got an "Already an editor" email directing me to come here to get the details of my previous account, which I cannot remember.

My previous account was used around 2006-2007 to help my ex-sister-in-law with her business website.

The category that I'd like to edit now is http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_...ture/Politics/Issues/Gun_Control/Legislation/

The editor name I tried to set up was "pallas" My old name may have been "dltripp".

My recent application, as I said above, was May 9.

Help?

Editors are only permitted a single account and it lasts for life. That's why the new editor application asks if you've been an editor previously (and you must have responded 'no'.)

You can't have another account but you can request that your old one be reinstated. Once accepted, you'll be able to request further categories.

Thanks for the info but it wasn't helpful.

- I can find no record of any editor with your claimed real name or editor name.
- I can find no record of there ever being a named editor in the category you mentioned.
- I can find no record that the website you mentioned was ever listed.
- There are no hits for any of your suggested emails.

Please think hard and come up with more compelling evidence that you were previously an editor.

"Is there someway I can get a new handle or use a different email? " As I already explained, that won't be possible

Well, that's the only name I have ever had, and that is the only commercial website I ever worked on, so I guess I'll assume that I wasn't working on DMOZ and that it's ok to say "no" to ever having a userid here before. Thanks.

I'm confused. Is that advice or a final, authoritative answer that I have no hope of being an editor? Is there an appeal process, or a complaint process?

I've been told a new account isn't possible if I've been an editor before. <Personal info removed> I thought I had been a DMOZ editor before, or I wouldn't have replied the way I did the first time I applied. However, you have proved I never had an account.

Again, what are my options for appeal or complaint?

Great. I asked at the beginning how to privately message you, and I followed your instructions. I kid you not - my peers get rape and death threats.

http://www.dmoz.org/public/abuse is where complaints are investigated by meta editors.

Since it's most likely me that you want to appeal or complain about, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to participate there or in this thread.
