Alternate way to report abuse?

I was surfing a category today and found several keyword stuffed titles, pointing to several made-for-adsense sites that all belong to the same person (same adsene account) who I believe is also the editor of the category. After poking around, checking out the source code, looking up whois info, etc, I clicked on "report abuse" and got a 404.

I'd hate to waste the time I spent checking out the sites. Is there an alternate method of reporting abuse until the technical difficulties are sorted out?

Thanks!

I'm sure one of our metas in here will be interested, but, I'm not sure which of them accepts PMs. :)

In any case, I personally thank you for reporting a suspected abuser, we don't tolerate that in the ODP, and it needs to be investigated.

Keyword stuffed titles normally come from submitters, so, it sounds more like somebody screwed up and accidently listed the sites, instead of keeping them in the unreviewed. That sometimes happens when editors are moving sites from one category to another.

It's way too obvious to be missed by other editors passing through that category, and there are many of us who do, :), so I don't think it's intentional abuse, abusers are usually a little less obvious.

You could also use the "update listing" feature, that usually gets our attention because update requests stand out, and can be dealt with fairly quickly, so we stay on top of them.

Thanks, crowbar. :)

The reasons I suspect the editor are somewhat convoluted. Among other things, the same adsense account appears on sites in some of their other categories and at least one of the sites appears in a couple of their categories. These are smaller categories with 5-10 listings each, so maybe harder to miss bad submissions.

Anyway, hopefully one of the metas will speak up and I can drop a PM. Thanks for your help. I was half expecting to get told off for suspecting an editor, so almost didn't post. Glad to hear I was wrong about that. :)

Nobody hates an abusive editor more than the rest of us honest ones, so, if it's true, you've done us a big favor. :D

Indeed. That's one of the functions that's still in recovery after our major systems failure late last year. It's described in the announcement thread at the top of each forum.

Please pm the details of the suspected abuse to me and I'll look into it :) .

Info received, thanks, and very interesting it looks too.

You'll likely see changes in the categories within a few days :D.
