An editor with deleting a listed url..

Hello,
I want to learn some information about deleting a listed url in dmoz. I try to explain my problem, sorry for my english..

My site: www.emlaksite.com
This site is a real estate agent web site in turkish language from Antalya which is a city in Turkey.(with english,deutch and russian..)
This site was listed in http://dmoz.org/World/Türkçe/Ekonomi_ve_İş_Dünyası/Emlak/ This category include real estate web sites in turkey. (in english like that: Turkish: Business and Economy: Real Estate) But in 24.01.2006, rbeydogan which is a editor in Turkish: Business and Economy, delete our sites from that category.

I asked rbeydogan to "why are you delete my site?", he says "your site is only a city real estate web site.. you are not about all country".

But this category contain MANY real estate web sites which are only a city real estates, like us.. moreover many web sites are about turkish county like marmaris, bodrum which are not a city.. they are only a county..

I explain that situation to rbeydogan and i ask "why you are deleted only my site?" but i cant get an quality answer..

I think if an editor want to fix a problem (if its a problem), he must be delete all city web sites.. not only one..
Please help me for that problem.. You can ask me whatever you want..

Real Estate sites are listed acording to the physical locations of their offices, not the area they serve. If you only have any office in a particular city then your site would be considered for listing only in the Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate sub-category of that city's category.

If there are other sites which are listed incorrectly within the Turkey/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate categories then please give details and someone may look into it.

If you believe the editor deleted your site for being in the wrong place, rather than moving it to the correct category for review and/or direct listing, then this may not be appropriate. Of course if a site is already listed correctly, then deleting incorrect duplicate listings is the right thing to do.

this category have 71 sites..
about ~40 sites are city real estates and ~7 sites are county real estates.. So, this category contain many city and county real estates. If you want to a detail list about that, i can be create a report about which site is city or county.

There is no turkish META, CAtMod, etc.. i try to talk with rbeydogan, but i cant get a quality reason for that deleting.


First, if my site's deleting is correct, i accept that.. but i dont want to see my rival companies in that category.

Your site is not deleted. It is moved to a different category. Our search is always a little outdated so the old location is still showing. But if you search for emlaksite.com you can see which other categories the site is listed in.

I think i cant explain my problem..
i say: "my rival companies listed in this category like i was..but they are still in there.."
Mr. rbeydogan delete us from that category but others are still in there.. Editor delete only our site and it's not a objective solution..
I know my site listed in other categories because of unique quality contents...

I think if an editor want to delete a city web site, he must be delete all city web sites.. not only one..

Am i thinking wrong? if it's a wrong idea, please tell me..

You've explained your problem well enough but you're misunderstanding how we function. You're right that other real estate agent sites should be moved to the city categories if appropriate. That will get done by someone eventually but it may not be all at the same time. Editors frequently end up dealing with individual cases as they come up rather than dealing with all of the sites in a category at one time.

ok.. i can give you 2 examples..
<URL removed> and <URL Removed>
These sites from Ankara - Turkey. They are a city real estate web sites.. like us.. Their web design company is <URL removed>. And this company's owner is <URL removed>. You can see <URL removed> web site link in <URL removed> right bottom and <name removed> mail adress is <email removed>

So.. These sites are listed in that category and they are a city real estate web site.. But what is the difference between us and that sites? They are build by a dmoz editor..

I say, these sites with other ~40 sites will not transfer to city categories many years.. You can check this message after 6 months..

I cant trust <name removed> and may be dmoz yet he is not objective..
