Hello,
I recently contacted the editor [edited] through the editor feedback form to find out the status of an update request for http://www.bagsforme.com. It had been months since my original request and there was no editor for the requested category (Shopping/Travel/Luggage). [edited] indicated in his reply that bagsforme.com would not be listed because my company had other listings in the same category.
I would like to point out that the site to which [edited] is referring (http://www.sinsimmia.com) is not a duplicate listing, but rather an old site that my company has all but abandoned. We've gone through several websites over the years as we've grown and made changes to better market our business. The only updates done on Sinsimmia.com in the past year have been legitimate redirects and deletions in an effort to slowly migrate to bagsforme.com.
I assure you that my company is not trying to deceive anyone. I don't deny that we didn't go to great lengths to have old sites removed, but we didn't realize we were violating a policy of the ODP in submitting a new site without specifically asking that old sites be removed. We would gladly have the sinsimmia.com site dropped to get the bagsforme.com site listed in its place.
We are a very fast-growing company that has numerous credentials in the luggage industry that enhance our credibility for this category. We have been an established online retailer since 1999 with nearly a 40% monthly growth rate since we started. We are dedicated to customer service and growing our business, we offer several unique brands and styles not offered by our competition, and we are a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau and several industry trade organizations. We believe that BagsForMe Luggage would be a great addition to the "luggage" category and we respectfully request your consideration in this matter.
Best Regards,
