Hi all,

I am slightly confused as to what is happening with my site result so thought I would post it here. Please let me know if having any of these external links is an issue and I will remove them, naturally I am using my case as an example.

From what I know, searching mydomain.com in the DMOZ search box returns the result to show whether your site has been accepted and included in DMOZ.

When I search the site I am making an application for <URL removed> it shows in the search results, as per this result:

<url removed>

This result shows that the site should be listed in the following category:

Games: Video Games: Recreation: Browser Based: Free Gambling Games - http://www.dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Recreation/Browser_Based/Free_Gambling_Games/

When I visit this page however the site is not listed there.

Is this normal? Does it take a period of time to appear or something?

Thanks for any help in advance.
Dave

Our rudimentary search is primarily intended to find an appropriate category. It operates from a database snapshot that can be several days old.

The category itself is definitive. If you can't see your website there, then it isn't listed there. It might have been removed (temporarily or permanently) or it might be in transit to a better category.

You'll have already read the announcement at the top of the forum which explains why we haven't undertaken status checks for several years.

Hi jimnoble,

Thank you very much for the reply - it's appreciated.

What would you recommend I do in this situation? I have waited a few weeks and the result listing still appears as described in the original post.

Guidelines state I should only submit my site once, should I just keep hanging in there?

Kind Regards,
Dave
