Application status for "sanjiv"

Hello,

A few hours ago, I applied to edit the "Top: Society: Organizations: Student: Student Government" category, which currently consists 85 sites. At the same time, my spam filter was acting up. I confirmed my application and received the following notice:

However, beyond that, I'm not sure if my spam filter accidentally killed off a couple of legit emails from ODP editors. I'd like to check whether I have been accepted, denied, or whether my application is still waiting to be reviewed.

All applications are reviewed by humans, so it will take some time. Right now, the application is still waiting to be processed. To quote the FAQ:

" Each application is reviewed by an experienced volunteer editor - a meta or a category moderator (catmod). This can take anything from a few hours to several weeks. "

I had the same problem. Although it was only two months ago, I don't recall precisely, but it sounds like your application was submitted -- and, it appears your application has not yet been approved. I don't recall there being any more codewords in the approval E-mail which you need in order to start editing, so, if you don't get the E-mail, you can still edit.

A Meta-editor did confirm that your application is actually in the queue.
