Application Status requested

I applied to become an editor (Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Hosting (1,986)) March 21, 2010, and received a couple replies as to what i had done incorrectly and corrected these errors. I reapplied and the last time ensured I had followed your instructions to the letter (opendir - 84a5d5faa869a18d2fb056bf736644a8‏.) While I did not receive a rejected email I have not received any other emails from you either. I do not know if it was a denial or a pending so am just inquiring as to which state. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter.

My apologies, I will take no news as good news then and will be patient. I have not gotten a rejection notice as of yet and did get confirmation that my application was received so will practice my patience.

But as I noticed that it takes some much time to be approved or disproved...

There are currently no new editor applications waiting for over 30 days. I don't think that's too long to wait considering the number of applications we get, and the fact that all the reviewing metas / catmods are volunteers. (And the older applications are often in languages where we have fewer or no meta editors / catmods who are fluent in those languages.)

is patient, just had not heard anything one way or another and the last times i was denied very quickly so will hope its a positive wait :)....jae

but nothing other than that, do i take it then, that i have been denied or should there have been something one way or another and i should just wait? I do not like to be bothersome but if I am denied I would like to know.

There are no pending applications that old, and no-one's been approved for that category, so I'm afraid that your application must have been rejected. You should have received an email explaining why. Unfortunately there emails often get caught in overly-agressive spam filters. Have you checked your spam filter to see if there's anything from a dmoz.org address there?

yes i did, and the others went through just fine. That category needs someone very badly, some of those links are out of date and there are a ton of others that need to be added which is why i was applying to begin with...they told me would be my last try to apply so i guess its senseless to do so....disappointing though...there are few out there that will give of their free time to edit that category im afraid as the chat itself is slowly dying, is why it needs to at least have up to date links....thanks for checking ...disappointed ..jaela
