Hello,
Recently I just applied for:

Top: Shopping: Health: Reproduction and Sexuality: Penis Enlargement

Due to working in a few bio-labs and compounding factories, having experience with the development of penis enlargement pills because I know what makes them work. I would like to know the status of my application if anyone could be-helpful... I'm realizing that my mail service (linuxmail.org) is having a bit of trouble delivering e-mail to me.

What if I applied for two category's such as a regional one of where I lived and the one I applied for now.. can I do that?

I'm not seeing any applications for that category. I suspect that it may have been denied. It's not the best category for a new editor to be starting in so whoever reviewed the application may have considered that. As you can imagine that category is a bit of a spam magnet and probably needs to be left to editors who have a bit more experience in dealing with these potential trouble spots :)

I would suggest finding another area in the directory that interests you.

But I never got a denial. :(

Oh well... I have much experience in editing just not in ODP and also, I reapplied for the area I live in... :( economy is so bad here that at a minimum of 5 businesses close and fail (bankrupcy) a week...

Ah well, hope this might turn it around..

Edit: I fear my mail service isn't doing the best it can... if my new application isn't rejected or is infact approved, can someone post that here just in case?

Your most recent application for that category was received and is waiting for review. I presume you got the feedback this time since you improved on the application. ;)

All you can do now is wait.

Yep, got the feedback, thx to whomever reviewed my application (You?).
Just a question in state of mind, is there an age req. to be an ODP editor?

I noticed that because you don't state you have to be a certain age, so you could have 14 year olds being editors? Am I right/wrong?

There is no general age requirement to be an editor, and we have a lot of young editors under 18 years.

There are areas of the directory where been 18 years old is required in order to edit.

No, as long as you fulfill our quality requirements, you can be of any age. Of course you would not become an editor of adult categories when not of an apropriate age, but for everything else: Why not?

Lets think about some music or computer games. Who knows best what's needed by the user? Who has enough time to be an editor for that kind of sites? Of course quality standards are the same as for everyone else.

There were recently some big changes to the hardware at the ODP, and the edit side of the site was taken offline for a week for that to happen. When it came back on there were initially some problems with the application process which were fixed a week or so back.

I understood that several hundred editor applications were awaiting review quite recently, but being actioned quite quickly, so I guess that you will need to leave it at least a week or so for people to get on with that.

Not to be hasty, but a week is coming up - Whats the status of my app now; I'm a little confused - even though I know you all are working really hard I just want to know :)

I know you're eager but please don't come back every few days to ask about the status of your application. It hasn't been "coming up on a week" since you last applied -- it's been less than three days.

If you haven't heard anything in 3 weeks, then you can come back and ask about it again.
